Direct and oversee the construction crews in the field daily for Michigan Broadband Services, a provider of high-speed communications services with service areas throughout Upper and Northern Lower Michigan. RESPONSIBILITES:
Supervises detailed fiber-to-the-home construction for new plant installation, replacement, removal, or rearrangement of existing infrastructure, utilizing industrys best practices to achieve maximum performance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness, accompanied by detailed opinions of probable costs including all labor, equipment, and materials to allow for accurate cost-study evaluations. Requires a strong knowledge in fiber-to-the-home system architectures, outside plant construction, and various computer skills. Collaborate with outside engineering contractors to supervise and review plans, designs, and specifications. Ensures company compliance with current telecommunications facilities in accordance with industry practices, codes, regulations, and ordinances.
Provides project management and quality control of outside plant construction related projects and activities related to the telecommunications infrastructure, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with relevant regulations and quality standards. Makes recommendations to determine which projects will require outside contractors, assisting with the vendor solicitation and selection process, and coordinating with contractors to schedule and complete the work as agreed upon. POSITION SUMMARY: The Quality Assurance Technician will be responsible for supporting the verification of quality processes and procedures of fiberglass parts through auditing, inspecting and testing to ensure parts meet specifications and quality standards before being sent to the customer.

Perform inspection of final product prior to shipping to the customer
Propose product or process improvements that will minimize quality defects, both internal and external

Ensures that all Documented Work Instructions are followed and have been implemented as they apply to our Quality System by conducting Process Audits
Identify and quarantine non-conforming material

Ensure that the finish on all parts is cosmetically acceptable to standards i.e. Automotive, Paint, or Industrial.
Fixture Calibration (Including but not limited to: dimensional checks of parts or fixtures,

Follow correct procedures in regards to ISO 9001 Standards.
Perform other related and non-related duties as assigned through on-the-job training

Duties and Responsibilities
* Ensure that employees follow the SGI company work rules, MSHA rules and regulations, State of Wisconsin and EPA regulations and conduct their behavior in a responsible and ethical manner.
* Conduct and record monthly "Tool Box Talks" and any other required safety training.
* Conduct and record job training, task training and equipment training including select mobile equipment training.
* Monitor condition and operation of baghouses. Complete baghouse report and EPA Method 9 reporting.
* Review mill report/notes from prior shift. Follow up on any issues.
* Collect and review daily safety inspection cards (Blue Cards) from each assigned employee and respond to any concerns.
* Conduct initial walk through and safety inspection. Check all machinery and equipment for proper operation and general condition. Report and correct issues.
* Check housekeeping and general cleanliness of facilities.
* Ensure that all employees complete their assigned cleaning and lubricating duties and properly fill out and turn in the corresponding paperwork.
* Monitor lockout/tagout for employees working on equipment and ensure proper personal protective equipment use.
* As required, check the position and condition of roll crusher tires. Adjust grates to direct feed if necessary. Record take-up measurements on each roll crusher.

* Submit any work requests to maintenance using Maximo.
* As required, request and charge out parts from the stockroom.
* Ensure screens being changed are replaced with the correct screen.
* Direct adjustments to equipment as required to achieve tonnage rates as targeted.
* Achieve and maintain quality by monitoring grading and directing process adjustment.
* Slug and adjust cone crushers to specified settings.
* Record and report shift total tonnages and issues including instances that effect tonnage and grading such as equipment breakdowns and hot roll bearings.
* Direct mill, intermediate, primary and quarry personnel on problems related to production.

About the role:
