As a young lawyer, my career was spent as a prosecutor in the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office, and later in private practice as a criminal defense attorney and assistant city attorney. Locally, I became active as the chairman of my local planning commission, before my election as City Council President. I then spent 6 years as a full-time legislator in the Michigan House of Representatives. Since \'terming out\' of the House, I've enjoyed a myriad of duties working for both Wayne County Executive Warren C. Evans and the Wayne County Department of Public Services. I currently act as liaison to the 15-member Wayne County Commission, among various other duties within the Office of the Wayne County Executive.
