Golf Maintenance Workers maintain and enhance golf course facilities by performing unskilled and semi-skilled jobs in a manner which assures a quality product and programs consistent with Park District policies. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS The work of this position necessarily involves some exposure to a variety of environmental conditions including fumes, odors, dust, dirt, heat, etc. Exposure to unfavorable health and safety factors in working conditions may be present due to the type of mechanical equipment used and the variety of functions performed. The position requires normal attention to tasks being performed and moderate to heavy physical exertion necessitating full and unrestricted body movements and use of all limbs and major muscle groups. This position requires the incumbent for frequent and/or prolonged periods to stand, bend, stoop, climb, crouch, reach, push/pull (up to approximately 100 lbs.) balance, lift (up to 50 lbs.), manipulate and grasp. Cleveland Metroparks is currently seeking Park Maintenance workers for Hinckley Reservation. The Park Maintenance Worker maintains and enhances Park District's facilities by performing unskilled and, as capable, semi-skilled jobs in a manner which assures a quality product and programs consistent with Park District policies. Performs unskilled and, as capable, semi-skilled work of a routine, repetitive nature in a responsible manner i.e., mowing, weed trimming, building and facility maintenance such as cleaning. Performs routine maintenance on Park Operation's building facilities and grounds. Makes minor mechanical repairs and service on division's equipment as directed. Works with semi-skilled and skilled-level employees toward to completion of construction renovation projects and repair work of facilities. Works towards the proficiency in the operation and maintenance of equipment. Keeps direct supervisor promptly informed of key/significant issues or concerns. Carries out duties and responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner to maintain a safe work environment and surrounding area for oneself, co-workers and public. Responds to hazardous situations and/or potentially unsafe conditions by taking corrective action as capable and promptly notifying supervisory personnel. The Department of Public Works and Parks and Recreation for looking for two seasonal employees to help staff our brand new splash pad and assist in the day to day maintenance of the City Parks. This position will require a flexible work schedule including working weekends. DUTIES Typical duties include: park and restroom maintenance, performing cleaning duties in the parks and restrooms, Responsible for water maintenance and testing daily.
