ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES: Independently troubleshoot reported problems; repair and maintain electrical, power distribution and electromechanical systems, PLC, process and machine controls, pumps and mechanical equipment pneumatic and hydraulic equipment and conveying systems; including installing and maintaining basic AC and DC controls, lighting, electrical systems using blueprints and schematic drawings to ensure equipment is performing safely to required specifications Identify root cause of complex/difficult mechanical and electrical issues and repair using welding, fabrication, basic pipefitting and electrical/process control knowledge; notify appropriate personnel if further attention is required Perform preventative maintenance on equipment as scheduled Search for and present ideas for permanent fix to reoccurring mechanical or electrical problems Identify unsafe conditions and corrects; request assistance if unable to correct on own Assist with maintaining a file of blueprints and operating manuals and procedures as needed Train lower level employees as needed Work in compliance with all company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations All other duties as assigned EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or equivalent NOCTI Mechanical/Electrical test, Level 1 and 2 certified Pass NOCTI Mechanical/Electrical test, Level 3 required EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: Minimum 3 years' experience in industrial machinery preventative maintenance and repair, mechanical and electrical knowledge a must Ability to read and understand blueprints, drawings and schematics required Intermediate math and computer skills Ability to operate/use hand and power tools required; experience with welding, pipefitting and/or fabrication required Ability to comprehend and communicate in English required Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours Sound work ethic, honesty and moral character SAFETY REQUIREMENTS: Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times in areas where required PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Stand up to 8 hours Lift up to 60 lbs May be exposed to heat (99ºF, 37ºC) and cold (45ºF, 4ºC) Exposure to wet and dusty environment Frequently reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling and crawling Roll and push buggies (~1,000 lbs.)
