    Under the direction of the Patient Financial Services Director, the PBX operator operates the switchboard, beeping & paging systems. Coordinates communications between employees, physicians, patients and the community. The PBX Operator must have the ability to handle multiple tasks on a variety of equipment in often stressful situations. Must have the ability to maintain perspective and composure during these stressful situations. II. Duties And Responsibilities Answers incoming, outgoing and in-house signals, directing or transferring appropriately, while giving general information. Pages and beeps as requested with appropriate documentation and logging. Calls ALL codes which include: Code Blues, Trauma Codes, Mass Disasters, Fire Codes, paging and beeping "On Call" personnel by utilizing call schedules or designated employees/physicians. Logs long distance calls placed from in-house extensions. Maintains patient listing, making corrections/updates as necessary. Completes work orders by assigning numbers & logging. Maintains, updates/corrects physician's monthly call lists Accomplishes special projects as directed by the PFS Director Reports equipment failure, telephones and beepers with proper documentation. Orders supplies and restocks on scheduled order days. Key Control - Logged in/out per personnel receiving and/or returning keys. Reports to maintenance any/all alarms. Cross trained to complete miscellaneous paperwork as required per Patient Financial Services Employee will be required to be readily available to work during any weather related incidents or other natural disasters and/or any emergency situations that may arise Must be able to: Train new employees as needed. Train current employees on new tasks. III. Education A High School diploma or equivalent is required. IV. Qualifications And Experience One year experience working PBX or similar communication system is required. V. Physical Demands Must be able to do the following on a constant, ongoing basis: Hear and understand both face-to-face and telephone conversations. See sufficiently to complete forms, read instructions, see numbers and lights on the communications equipment and maintenance alarms. Calculation of medication doses/schedules with documentation on patient medical records to assure proper medication is provided to the nursing staff for administration to the patient as ordered by the physician. 4. Monitoring and dosing of aminoglycosides and Vancomycin, Performing DVT assessments, assessing all CHF, pneumonia, and renal patients for appropriateness of drugs, ADR, Med errors, and patients on Glucophage. Review of daily C&S lab results for antibiotic appropriateness . The pharmacist is also responsible for nutritional assessments/ recommendations on patients on TPN therapy when requested by the physician. The clinical pharmacist will make weekly rounds with a multidisciplinary team to assess patient needs. 5. Checking medication carts, IV piggybacks and large volume fluids 6. Providing medication information for physicians, nurses, and hospital employees as requested. 7. Contacting physician whenever needed to clarify physician orders, i.e. proper dosage, route of a::lministration, or allergy. 8. Monitoring and coordinating technician duties as needed 9. Covering all "on call" responsibilities including responding to cardiac and trauma codes, assisting the house supervisor as needed for orders written during hours the pharmacy is closed.     The phlebotomist performs venipuctures and skin punctures on patients of all ages competently and expediently. Has thorough knowledge of test requirements. II. Duties And Responsibilities Collects and accurately labels blood specimens from patients of all ages according to policy and transports to appropriate testing sections. Receives and transports specimens from the laboratory drawing area to appropriate testing sections within the lab. Responds to order priorities in a timely manner i.e., STAT, ASAP, TIMED Maintains collection tray and laboratory drawing area in a clean and organized Other Responsibilities: Assists others in the laboratory in those functions not restricted by rules, regulations or laws. Complies with policies and procedures regarding department operations, fire safety and infection control. Maintains and ensures patient confidentiality at all times. Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices. Completes annual safety, infection control and educational requirements. Is knowledgeable of the mission, ethics and goals of the department. Participates in CQI activities. Employee authorization for access to EPHI is determined by job function and is under the direction of his/her Department Director. Employee will be required to be readily available to work during any weather related incidents or other natural disasters and/or any emergency situations that may arise. III. Education High school graduate or equivalent and completion of a certificate program including Phlebotomy Preferred. Experience is required with no completion of a certificate program. Licensure: None required Education and/or In-services to verify ability to obtain specimens for the age of the patient i.e. Pediatrics, Geriatrics, etc. CPR required every two years. IV. Qualifications And Experience Trained in Phlebotomy procedures of all ages. V. The specimens are analyzed according to laboratory standards, recorded accurately so that the best service possible is available to the physicians for use in diagnosis and treatment of the patient. II. Duties And Responsibilities Collects, receives and accessions a variety of specimens. Performs and documents laboratory test and/or resul Performs and records calibration according to policy. Performs and records daily Quality Control and documents any corrective action. Performs and records maintenance procedures according to policy. Performs basic clerical duties related to test data with notification of critical values according to policy. Performs and records analysis of proficiency tests according to policy. Other Responsibilities: Maintains assigned lab section to include QC, maintenance logs, inventory of supplies & procedure manuals. Updates procedure manuals. Education A.S. degree, MLT (ASCP) certification or MLT classification as recognized by GDCH with certification. Licensure: None Education and/or In-services to verify ability to obtain specimens appropriately for the age of the patient i.e., Geriatrics, Pediatrics. Certification: ML T classification as recognized by ASCP, AAB or AMT. IV. Qualifications And Experience With credentials and hospital orientation, entry level into position. Experience preferred. V.
