Applebaum's generosity, leadership and outstanding accomplishments as a pharmacist, businessman and entrepreneur, the Wayne State University Board of Governors voted in 2001 to name the college the Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.
June 2005 - Doctor Bock resigned as Chair to become President of Harper University Hospital and Hutzel Women's Hospital within the DMC. Doctor Padraic J. Sweeny was named Interim Chair and continued to provide strong leadership for the department.
2008 – The Irvin D. Reid Honors college was created.
January 31, 2012 - Doctor Suzanne R. White steps down as Chair to become the Chief Academic and Medical Officer of the Detroit Medical Center.
2014 – The Advanced Technology Education Center opens in Warren, Michigan.
2018 – The Mike Ilitch School of Business opens its new facility, located in The District Detroit.
