Assists Saw Operator with ensuring aluminum extrusions are cut to finish length, according to the customer needs, as well as performing light quality checks.
Requirements:
During cutting process, ensure ends of metal touch saw gauge.
Watches closely for quality problems; (such as dents, blisters, tear outs, die lines.) Turns metal over to check bottom surface; checks quality of end cuts. Notifies supervisor of any defects; discards scrap.
Carefully stack extrusions into racks and use spacers between rows. Keep accurate pieces count of all material.
Assist in the Verification of the piece counts are correct.
Ensure rack tags are placed on the proper racks.
Blow out all saw chips from material.
Ensure there is proper flow of cutting lubricant and fill as needed.
Assists with Press, Stretcher, Saw, and Forklift Operations
Performs light preventative maintenance and advises supervisor when maintenance is needed.
Maintains a clean and orderly workplace
Observes safety rules and practices. Reports any unsafe acts or conditions to press foreman.
