    Requirements engineer job at Wealthfront

Job Description*This role supports hybrid in-office US-based work in San Francisco - Bay Area, New York, and Seattle. About Wealthfront EngineeringWealthfront's culture centers around continuous learning, innovation, and quality-driven software development. With high quality software as our ultimate engineering objective, our key tactic is automation: • Wealthfront software automates the financial services we provide to our clients, and within these services we automate the collection of data that we learn from on our way to making our services even better. • Wealthfront engineers function as builder/operators, with dual responsibility for building the system and operating it in production. Any toil that this brings about is automated away by engineers. This investment in automation is expected, and the prioritization of it is always built into our planning and execution. • Wealthfront engineers automate our development processes. For example, Wealthfront engineers automate all of our testing. Manual testing is not part of the software development lifecycle at Wealthfront. • Wealthfront engineers automate observability in case of failure. If something is up, our systems inform engineers appropriately. If our systems are quiet, they are healthy. If you are drawn to being an engineer within such an environment, and having outsized impact as an engineer at a magnitude that is only available within a company achieving greatness at our size (~250 employees, half in engineering), then we want to hear from you! About the Role We are looking for backend engineers to join our core product development teams. You'll work with other engineers to design and build new features or enhance existing features. This work will add capabilities to the various backend systems and services that support Wealthfront's products, and will be done with automated instrumentation and monitoring to require minimal operational maintenance. You'll help improve the maintainability and stability of our codebase by fixing issues and adding necessary enhancements to our existing backend systems. You'll ensure that mission critical backend systems and services operate smoothly in production by triaging and resolving operational issues as part of a team of on-call engineers. You'll proactively identify opportunities for improving the reliability and scalability of our systems. Additionally, you might play a part in evolving the engineering organization by participating in recruiting activities such as interviewing and attending career fairs and providing mentorship to other engineers on the team. About You You have 2-6 years of experience in developing backend components, services or APIs in Java or a similar language. You demonstrate knowledge and understanding of distributed systems and functional programming paradigms. You have knowledge of SQL and experience working with online data stores (ideally something like MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MS SQL Server but NoSQL is okay). You have passion for agile, test-driven development, continuous integration and automated testing. You also have a passion for working on platforms and backend systems that have measurable business impact and like working in a fast paced cross functional environment. While not required, experience working with Spark pipelines is a plus along with knowledge of an ORM technology such as Hibernate. Another plus is working with a dependency injection framework (one of Guice, Spring, Pico, Dagger). You have either a BS or MS in computer science or related field. Once you join, Wealthfront will: Pair you with a mentor who will guide you through our structured onboarding program Encourage you to work on projects that match your professional goals Support your professional development by providing feedback during weekly 1:1s and our semi-annual reviews Provide you autonomy so you can be a happy and successful member of our team Estimated annual salary range: $140,000 - $185,000 plus equity and a discretionary bonus. Benefits include medical, vision, dental, 401K plan, generous time off, parental leave, wellness reimbursements, professional development, employee investing discount, and more! Primer 4.6company rating

    San Francisco, CA jobs

Fixing our K-12 education system is a civilizationally-important problem. We believe that all of our problems - including the ones that dominate the headlines - are downstream of education. We have a simple thesis on how to solve it: empower 1,000's of educators to launch microschools in their communities. We believe the historical tradeoff between price (tuition) and quality is a false dichotomy. PrimerOS automates and eliminates much of the costs of traditional schools. Microschools have a structural advantage - asset-light real estate - which means much lower capex and opex. You put it together, and you get something that's never existed before: a world-class education that's accessible to normal American families and can rapidly scale. Don't see the right role for you? We're always looking to meet exceptional people. Primer is an end-to-end engineering organization building the operating system for real schools. Our work spans several technical disciplines. A non-exhaustive sample: Distributed Systems & Data Infrastructure High-throughput GraphQL services, low-latency event pipelines, schema design for real-time classroom operations, transactional integrity across multi-tenant school networks. Client Systems & Interaction Engineering Complex TypeScript/React architectures, high-frequency UI state updates, deterministic rendering under poor network conditions, resilient offline behavior, design-system engineering for high-context educational workflows. Networking, Infrastructure & Reliability Full Dockerized service graph, CI/CD pipelines that ship daily into dozens of live campuses, observability at scale, automated failover, network shaping for unreliable school WiFi, performance engineering across heterogeneous hardware. Realtime Media & Classroom Presence WebRTC transports, adaptive bitrate + packet recovery strategies, custom SFU optimizations for classrooms, audio/video error correction, telemetry-driven session stability, and real-time presence models for synchronous instruction. Learning Systems, Data Science & ML End-to-end ETL, feature engineering from student behavior signals, reading/math proficiency modeling, personalization engines, automated teacher/parent narrative generation, and continuous feedback loops driven by real learner data. We're moving extremely fast and the surface area keeps growing. If you think you can push the boundaries of what software can do for real schools, let's talk. If this sounds like you, please apply!

  • Legal Engineer

    Crusoe 4.1company rating

    San Francisco, CA jobs

Job Description Crusoe's mission is to accelerate the abundance of energy and intelligence. We're crafting the engine that powers a world where people can create ambitiously with AI - without sacrificing scale, speed, or sustainability. Be a part of the AI revolution with sustainable technology at Crusoe. Here, you'll drive meaningful innovation, make a tangible impact, and join a team that's setting the pace for responsible, transformative cloud infrastructure. About This Role: Crusoe Legal is moving beyond traditional operations to build a state-of-the-art, automated Legal Operating System to power our rapid international expansion. We are seeking a technical and innovative Legal Engineer to architect the infrastructure that eliminates legal and financial friction across the company. In this high-impact role, you will treat legal processes as engineering challenges, designing scalable logic, building complex integrations across our enterprise stack (Ironclad, Salesforce, Coupa, Slack), and deploying data-driven solutions. Join us at the intersection of Law, Technology, and Finance to build the digital backbone of a hyper-growth, AI-forward global enterprise. This is a full-time position. What You'll Be Working On: Legal Tech Stack Architecture & Integration: Architect and maintain the integrity of the legal technology ecosystem (CLM, ELM, IP Management). You will lead the technical design of integrations between legal tools and the broader enterprise stack (Salesforce, Slack, Coupa) using APIs, middleware, and webhooks to ensure seamless data flow. Workflow Engineering & Logic Design: "Productize" legal services by designing the "Front Door" intake system. You will build complex, conditional workflows that transform unstructured requests into structured data, utilizing logic gates to route approvals and tasks without manual intervention. Finance Operations Automation: Engineer the connection between Legal and Finance. You will automate the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) lifecycle by configuring validation rules for billing, automating accrual data collection, and ensuring perfect sync between the CLM and ERP systems. Data Analytics & Dashboarding: Design the data schema required to capture actionable metrics (cycle times, risk exposure, spend velocity) and build dynamic, real-time dashboards (Tableau, PowerBI, or native tools) for executive leadership. Knowledge Management & Scalability: Build the digital scaffolding for international expansion. You will configure dynamic contract templates and clauses that adapt based on jurisdiction, automating the delivery of "Global Expansion Playbooks" to business users via self-service portals. AI & Innovation Implementation: Serve as the technical lead for testing and deploying AI-driven features within the legal stack, specifically regarding contract analysis and metadata extraction. What You'll Bring to the Team: Technical Legal Operations Experience: 4+ years in a Legal Engineering, Legal Operations, or Systems Analyst role, specifically within a high-growth technology company. You have a track record of shipping solutions, not just managing them. Advanced CLM Architecture: Deep, hands-on configuration experience with modern CLM platforms (specifically Ironclad). You must be comfortable building complex workflow conditions, manipulating metadata fields, and designing template schemas. Integration & Automation Fluency: Proven experience connecting systems via APIs, Webhooks, or Middleware (e.g., Workato, Tray.io, Zapier). You understand data payloads (JSON) and how to map fields between disparate systems. Data Structure & Analytics: Proficiency in data management. You can structure data for reporting and have experience with databases or advanced Excel/Google Sheets formulas (Index/Match and Query functions are expected) to synthesize financial and operational data. Process Engineering Mindset: A demonstrated ability to map "analog" legal processes into digital workflows. You can visualize complex decision trees and identify edge cases before building. Bonus Points: Coding & Scripting: Basic proficiency in Python or JavaScript is a strong differentiator. Enterprise Platform Certifications: Administrator-level certifications in Salesforce, Coupa, or Ironclad are highly advantageous. BI Tool Expertise: Experience building visualizations in Tableau, PowerBI, or Looker. AI Prompt Engineering: Specific experience testing and implementing AI tools within a legal context (e.g., tuning prompts for contract review or data extraction). Benefits: Industry competitive pay Restricted Stock Units in a fast growing, well-funded technology company Health insurance package options that include HDHP and PPO, vision, and dental for you and your dependents Employer contributions to HSA accounts Paid Parental Leave Paid life insurance, short-term and long-term disability Teladoc 401(k) with a 100% match up to 4% of salary Generous paid time off and holiday schedule Cell phone reimbursement Tuition reimbursement Subscription to the Calm app MetLife Legal Company paid commuter benefit; $300 per month Compensation: Compensation will be provided in the range of $136,000 - $165,000 + Bonus. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Final compensation determinations will be based upon the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
