The CLASS Observer will be certified in the CLASS and will work closely with key stakeholders at the CLEE. CLEE partners with stakeholders across Tennessee to help meet the requirement of preschool CLASS observations. CLASS observers will conduct one observation for each educator selected by stakeholder and complete up to three observation cycles aligned with data collected from observations. Observers will provide feedback and submit the detailed and scored CLASS booklet to be used for the early childhood program's final report. This position will require working from a home office and frequent travel in TN. This temporary, remote position requires frequent travel. Compensation is $29 per hour plus travel expenses. Responsibilities: Program Observation & Assessment Conduct structured observations of camp programs, activities, and daily routines using PQA tools and rubrics Assess quality indicators such as engagement, inclusion, safety practices, staff-camper interactions, and program flow Observe across multiple program areas, age groups, and session types Documentation & Reporting Accurately document observations, scores, and qualitative notes Prepare clear, timely summaries of findings for program leadership Work with Camp Director to identify patterns, strengths, and areas for improvement across sessions Collaboration & Feedback Participate in debrief conversations with program leadership as requested Share observations & patterns with Camp Director in support of continuous learning Support a culture of learning, reflection, and continuous improvement Training, Preparation & Calibration Attend Seasonal Staff Training (May 19, 2026-May 29, 2026) Complete a required course in program assessment prior to conducting evaluations (9 hours of training, April 8-9) Participate in calibration activities to ensure consistency and integrity in scoring Follow all confidentiality and ethical guidelines related to assessment work Maintain familiarity with current evaluation tools and quality standards Flying Horse Farms covers the cost of the required evaluation course and compensates evaluators for time spent completing the training. Compensation is per submitted evaluation. Meals are provided while at camp. This role focuses on monitoring, analyzing, and communicating high-impact global weather events and natural hazards, helping customers understand risks to employee safety and business continuity. This position supports a 24/7 operational environment and is structured as a standard 40-hour workweek. The selected candidate must be flexible and available to work evenings, overnight, and weekend shifts as required. Initial training will be conducted during regular weekday business hours, after which the role may transition to an overnight and/or weekend schedule. Who you are: You are an operational meteorologist with 2-3 years of professional forecasting experience, preferably in the private weather sector or another fast-paced, decision-driven environment. You are comfortable monitoring high-impact weather and natural hazards on a global scale and proactively communicating risks before, during, and after significant events. Experience with global weather monitoring is a strong plus. You have a demonstrated ability to translate complex meteorological and hazard information into clear, actionable guidance for non-technical audiences, including enterprise and executive stakeholders. You exercise sound judgment under time pressure and are confident making independent decisions while knowing when to escalate or collaborate with teammates. You thrive in a breaking-news, operational setting where priorities shift quickly and multiple threats must be assessed simultaneously. You are highly detail-oriented, organized, and capable of maintaining situational awareness across multiple regions and hazard types. You are comfortable contributing to customer-facing briefings and presentations, including webinars with live Q&A, and creating written and digital forecast or hazard content such as alerts, assessments, short-form video, or podcasts. While the role includes media-adjacent responsibilities, it is not an on-air or lead broadcast position. You are adaptable, collaborative, and self-directed, with the ability to work flexible shift hours with minimal supervision. Produce and disseminate timely, high-urgency alerts and assessments that clearly communicate potential impacts to people, operations, and business continuity. Investigate and validate real-world impacts from weather and other hazards-including wildfires, earthquakes, tsunamis, and volcanic activity-using professional forecasting tools, open-source intelligence, and social media to confirm evacuations, infrastructure damage, power outages, and transportation disruptions. Collaborate closely with Global Intelligence Analysts to guide impact collection and maintain real-time situational awareness before, during, and after major events. Support customer-facing communications by contributing to situation reports, briefings, webinars, and responses to customer inquiries as needed.
