Job Purpose The Shop Painter's primary responsibility is to prepare and paint drilling tools and equipment. This entry-level Shop Painter will also cross-train to assemble and repair drilling tools as well as troubleshoot and implement preventative/corrective maintenance on field equipment tools. Key Responsibilities Develop and formulate elastomeric and thermoplastic materials Recommend appropriate materials for specific applications Work with procurement teams to identify new suppliers Assist quality teams with supplier audits and resolving non-conformances Help solve manufacturing problems related to elastomer production Conduct failure analyses and prepare technical reports Test materials to evaluate their properties using industry standards Create specifications for processes, products, and testing Coordinate multiple projects and direct lab technicians and junior chemists Comply with Weatherford's quality and safety policies Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in chemistry or materials engineering 6-10 years of elastomers experience 5 years of experience with oilfield elastomers Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work with all levels of personnel Experience with elastomer testing and analytical techniques Skill in managing multiple concurrent projects Knowledge of oilfield elastomers Preferred Qualifications PhD or Master's Degree in Polymer Chemistry or Chemical Engineering 10+ years of experience with oilfield polymers Experience in the Oil and Gas Industry Experience in elastomer compounding Knowledge of composites Understanding of quality systems Travel Requirements This position requires up to 25% travel, both domestic and potentially international. #LI-KP1
