Web application developer job description

Candidate shall provide software support as a service, including but not limited to creating, developing, operating, maintaining, and implementing within our infrastructure. Candidate shall be familiar with ColdFusion and Python as a resource to maintain the NSWC CRNA Intranet, as well as adhere to all Cyber STIG requirements. Candidate shall work closely with customers during the following: identifying requirements, analysis, design, test phases (documenting all new processes, software updates), quality assurance and reporting back any learned lessons and risks.

Candidate shall develop local applications using C#,Angular, SQL, Cold Fusion, JavaScript, .NET (dot net), and other computer languages and database environments, utilizing various frameworks. Candidate shall have experience troubleshooting, performing root cause analysis, understand code, scripts, queries and embedded procedures, and use gathered information to enhance software applications.

Candidate willperform data validation. Candidates should have experience in researching software project alternatives and provide recommended solutions. Candidate shall have the ability to develop and present briefings to executive audiences, including topics such as data management processes and tools, software development status, and data quality improvement recommendations. Candidate will perform data assessment and data profiling. Candidates shall be proficient in MS Office suite, Adobe Acrobat Pro and PDF. Advanced level skills in MS SQL, C#, AngularJS 1.5/Angular 6, Aurelia, VBA/MS Access, and Java Script.

Candidate must ensure all web application developers and software developers adhere to 8140 CSWF Requirements: CSWF Software Development - Computer Science degree or Certified Secure Software Life-Cycle Professional (CSSLP)

Candidate will maintain NSWC Corona Intranet. Candidate shall interface and maintain back-end databases that interact with the Intranet pages. Candidate shall create and implement user friendly, visually appealing web pages.

This position provides a variety of deployment and operational support for a large set of Federal web applications conducting monitoring, operations, security and assists in the support and development related to these applications. The ideal candidate will have experience in standing up and administering web applications based on the LAMP stack and have some implementation experience in platforms such as WordPress or Drupal. Active or Interim Secret Clearance required.

General roles & responsibilities:
Install, update and manage Wordpress, Drupal and/or PHP applications supporting multiple public websites. Deployment, monitoring, and support of web applications running under Tomcat or Apache Monitor operational availability of production applications by utilizing and implementing automated failure alerts Planning for and testing new versions of supported platforms Tracking down problems relating to issues in the computing environment, such as network or security problems. Learn and work within AWS Cloud environment Developing scripts to automate, when possible, frequently performed tasks Conduct capacity and performance planning Develop and perform automated deployment and upgrade procedures/scripts Learn and be able to perform some content management and development (development possibilities commensurate with your skills) Stay abreast of current technology and seek out new tools that can be utilized appropriately Make design recommendations that enhance support or usability of applications and sites Work independently and as a part of a team to complete technical tasks with high quality and in accordance with schedule and budget constraints
Required Skills
Must possess 1+ years of professional IT experience. Experience supporting and deploying web applications preferably including LAMP web service stack with Wordpress or Drupal Experience with Linux systems administration Must be able to triage, troubleshoot, and respond to technical challenges supporting public websites Basic experience with RDBMs such as MySQL Basic knowledge of networking Experience with various utility scripting tools Demonstrate a willingness, interest, and aptitude to learn new technologies and skills Requires ability to work well independently as well as part of a team Requires strong communication (verbal and written) skills with other team members and clients Hands-on software troubleshooting experience Ability to present ideas and solutions in user-friendly language
