The role requires advanced proficiency with WordPress and a solid understanding of modern web technologies, user experience design, and platform integration. The Web Developer works collaboratively with marketing, IT, and external vendors to support business objectives and maintain a cohesive digital presence that reflects the Market of Choice brand. As a Web Developer, some of your responsibilities will include: Website Development and Maintenance Design, develop, and update website content and features using WordPress and associated web technologies. Implement and maintain custom themes, templates, and plugins as needed. Ensure website functionality across multiple browsers and devices. Manage hosting environment, perform regular updates, backups, and monitor uptime and performance. Integration and Technical Support Develop and maintain integrations between the website and external systems, including e-commerce, mobile applications, marketing automation tools, and CRM systems. Coordinate with IT and third-party vendors on technical issues, upgrades, and platform compatibility. Maintain version control and documentation for all web development projects. Design and User Experience Collaborate with the marketing team to align design and functionality with brand standards. Ensure consistent layout, typography, and visual presentation across all web pages. Apply accessibility standards (WCAG) and best practices for usability and responsive design. Performance and Analytics Monitor website performance using analytics and SEO tools. Identify and implement improvements to enhance load times, search visibility, and user engagement. Provide regular performance reports and insights to support marketing initiatives. Security and Compliance Maintain web security standards, including SSL, plugin updates, and data protection practices. Ensure compliance with privacy and accessibility regulations. Research and Continuous Improvement Stay informed about new technologies, tools, and web design trends. Recommend updates and improvements to enhance site performance and user experience. QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Web Development, Computer Science, Digital Media, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum three (3) years of professional experience in web development, with emphasis on WordPress-based sites. Experience in e-commerce, mobile app integration, or marketing system integration preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Advanced proficiency in WordPress, including custom themes, PHP, MySQL, and plugin management. Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and responsive design frameworks. Familiarity with APIs and platform integrations (e.g., e-commerce, CRM, or app-based systems). Understanding of SEO, Google Analytics, and performance optimization tools. Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git). Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple projects with deadlines in a collaborative environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Maintain understanding and use of Adobe Creative Suite. Maintain skills and understanding or relevant programming platforms, skills, etc. Working Conditions Primarily office-based May require occasional evening or weekend work for system maintenance or launches.
