You will work with highly skilled and motivated delivery teams made of Instructional Systems Designers (ISDs), Software Engineers, 3D Artists, and Tech Leads to design, develop, test, build, and deploy customer training software - and have a blast doing it. i3's ideal candidate is responsible for supporting all kinds of design efforts of these digital products, validating their efforts with the program Creative Leadership and other Creative Operations team members regularly to accomplish this. They are responsible for the accurate implementation of their eventual designs into the game engine, as well, and work closely with our Software Engineers to ensure this. Our ideal candidate workshops their efforts with the Creative Director and Creative Operations team weekly to ensure their designs and implementations are cohesive. They're cool to hang with critique and can pick up brand standards and iterate on them easily. Our ideal candidate also has a portfolio that demonstrates the core competencies of a graphic designer. In fact, it is required that you submit an online portfolio and/or website of your work with your application. While the best Graphic Designer portfolios typically display a proficiency in general graphic design, other efforts in motion graphics, branding and logomark design, collaborations with other folks, and video work all won't hurt. We also recommend galleries with lots of pretty pictures demonstrating an understanding of typography and principles of design. Impress us. Primary Responsibilities: Specialization in producing high-fidelity 2D graphics. Craft motion graphics and ensure implementation by software engineers is solid. Design for desktop-based and/or tablet-based UIs. Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with software engineers and other stakeholders. Illustrate design ideas to product stakeholders using mockups as needed. Provide feedback to software engineers as designs are implemented to ensure user experience is cohesive and accurate. Regularly workshop efforts with the Creative Director and the Creative Operations team to maintain a cohesive design and user experience of the digital product.     Opportunity PeopleTec is currently seeking a User Experience Engineer / Designer to support our Huntsville, AL location. We are seeking a user experience engineer/designer interested in joining an award-winning company and working with cutting-edge missile defense modeling and simulation technologies. The selected candidate will be a member of a dynamic Huntsville-based team working on state-of-the-art system-of-systems frameworks to improve the user experience and interfaces. This is a full-time, on-site position. Duties Include: * Driving enhancements to products to improve user experience of tools and interfaces * Managing projects and integrations across SW development, Systems Engineering, and User Engagement, and stakeholder teams * Modernization of products, tools, and utilities * Working with agile scrum teams to verify acceptance criteria related to interface modernization and usability * Identifying and maintaining user personas to represent key segments of our vast user base to identify UI/UX improvements and understand likely impact to changes in user interfaces * Processing user feedback to form wireframes to produce mockups to be used by developers * Working with the Systems Engineering team to help define development requirements * Analyzing competitor applications to identify potential UI/UX improvements * Working alongside stakeholders to select UI/UX features to be worked, gather feedback on potential design updates, and maintain an agile backlog of potential UI/UX enhancements and modernizations * Proactively identifying areas where UI/UX support is needed and inserting themselves into relevant meetings, discussions, and projects to provide expertise and guidance * Driving UI/UX decisions and ensuring user-centered design principles are integrated into all aspects of the program Qualifications Required Skills/Experience: * 3+ years experience in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Balsamiq, Adobe XD, or InVision * Understanding of user-centered design principles and human-computer interaction * Experience in front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) * Must be a U.S. Citizen * An active DoD Secret clearance is required to perform this work. Candidates are required to have an active Secret clearance upon hire, and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment. Education Requirements: * Bachelor's degree from accredited college in related discipline with 5 years professional experience; or Master's degree with 3 years professional experience; or PhD with no experience Overview People First.
