Our pay ranges are based on the local cost of labor benchmarks for each specific role, level, and geographic location. Softtek Government Solutions is looking for a UX/UI Designer/Consultant/1099 to join our federal technology services practice. We are looking for a consummate professional that can confidently design stellar user experiences as part of an agile development team creating Microsoft SharePoint applications. You should possess serious User Experience (UX) skill and User Interface (UI) Design skills, have a passion for designing intuitive user experiences. Please be a true UX guru and designer that has proven hands-on experience in facilitation and collaborating with users, subject matter experts, and software developers to create seamless designs and the successful implementation of UI/UX best practices and principles on full-life cycle development projects. In this role, you will design experiences backed by Microsoft SharePoint server for a Gov't client in Washington, DC. You will work directly with the government's product owner to analyze user journeys, develop software UI designs, and validate/test front ends experiences. You will collaborate with a small agile team of SharePoint Developers, Database Developers, and System Administrators. You will largely work remotely from home, but you must make yourself available to commute into the client office for picking up IT equipment or joining important meetings as requested by the client so please reside in the Washington, DC area.
Responsibilities:
Create overall concepts for the user experience within a business webpage or product, ensuring all interactions are intuitive and easy for customers
Build storyboards to conceptualize designs and convey project plans to clients and management
Account for and track the human-computer interaction (HCI) element of a design
Design the aesthetics to be implemented within a website or product, from the layout menus and drop-down options to colors and fonts
Build proof of concept examples
Actively participate in product design reviews by providing creative and practical ideas and solutions in a teamwork environment.
Conduct testing of completed applications, websites and software to Assess user experience
Required Education:
Bachelor's degree
Required Experience:
4+ years of experience working as a UX/UI Designer on development teams
Experience using design tools such as Balsamiq, Invision, or similar
Experience leading user customer journey mapping exercises
Experience designing and/or applying visual style guides
Preferred given for experience designing for Microsoft SharePoint but not required
