Reporting to the Director of Communications, the Web Developer has primary responsibility for maintaining the Friedman Schools web presence, which can involve everything from updating content to creating new functionality as needed.

Responsibilities include:
Maintain, enhance and provide ongoing design of all currently existing websites, including implementing marketing functionality, the creation of special content, and custom designs for clients Design and develop new web pages/sites incorporating user-friendly interfaces (UX / UI) Utilize pre-established web and style guidelines, while including some of your own independent creativity and latitude to perform job functions Partner directly with school faculty, students, and staff to design and deliver content platforms tailored to their needs Collaborate with university level technical teams and external vendors, to deliver a secure and efficient environment for all our digital properties Leverage creativity in approaching problem-solving while building requested services Research, design, and implement user-focused digital structures, databases, and interfaces for ease-of-use while adhering to web standards and progressive accessibility standards May lead or participate on discrete project teams for affiliated and grant project sites

Basic Requirements:

BAE Systems program supports a federal customer who is the principal fact-finding agency for the Federal Government in the broad field of labor economics and statistics. The agency is an independent national statistical agency that collects, processes, analyzes, and disseminates essential statistical data to the American public, the U.S. Congress, other Federal agencies, State and local governments, business, and labor. This position supports the Office of Prices and Living Conditions (OPLC).They require support to redesign and organize their SharePoint site. This position will be responsible for designing the look, layout, and features of SharePoint sites and applications using experience and knowledge of SharePoint development tools and user interface programming languages, such as .Net, HTML and JavaScript.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) Office of Prices and Living Conditions (OPLC) Front Office requires contractor support to redesign and organize the OPLC SharePoint site. The 100% remote position will be responsible for designing the look, layout, and features of SharePoint sites and applications using experience and knowledge of SharePoint development tools and user interface programming languages, such as .Net, HTML and JavaScript.It is anticipated that this work will take no longer than six (6) months to complete, after which this support will drop off the contract.The position shall meet with government sponsors to gather requirements for the redesign the OPLC SharePoint site.The position shall then redesign the OPLC SharePoint site (including all of the subfolders and pages) per the requirements. The position will also be responsible create a SharePoint site/page for an OPLC blog which gives government staff the capability to upload pictures and files site and a system for archiving old files and materials on the SharePoint site.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills


Three years minimum experience developing Websites in SharePoint. Proficient in SharePoint framework, building sites, developing and administrating. Basic knowledge and understanding of SDLC process Experience identifying and determining the feasibility of alternatives for software technology. Experience with task specified programming languages (SharePoint, HTML, JavaScript) Experience gathering requirements from users and supporting acceptance testing. Experience in system testing including planning, executing, developing test data, and documenting the testing. Experience with change and issue tracking applications (e.g., Redmine, VersionOne, JIRA, etc Strong project management skills. Expertise building and/or maintaining collaboration sites and/or programs. Excellent knowledge around UI/UX



Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills


Experience meeting with stakeholders to gather requirements. Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Prior experience creating a SharePoint site/page.
