The Role
The Senior Food Scientist will be the technical lead for new product innovation. This person will be responsible for working with brand manager and the plant on every stage of new product development from concept generation to commercialization. In addition, the candidate will aid the director of R&D with the execution of corporate R&D projects. This position will report to the Director of R&D.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
New Product Development
Leads the development of projects from benchtop development through pilot plant scale up, factory scale-up, and commercialization.
Responsible for commercialization of new and reformulated products and successful transition from development to production
Designs and conduct lab tests, pilot plant and large-scale tests within manufacturing facilities to optimize formulation and/or process
Collaborates with Brand Manager and Senior Consumer Insights Analyst to develop robust innovation pipeline
Identifies and explores new and enabling technologies
Monitors domestic and global trends related to flavors and ingredients for candy/confections
Manage multiple projects at once with minimal supervisor guidance using clear communication, prioritization, and multitasking skills
Ensures all products meet Tootsie Roll Industries quality standards and shelf-life requirements.
Works closely with Process Engineers, Marketing, Quality, and Manufacturing in project execution and problem solving.

Is the R&D technical lead for continuous improvement/optimization projects for existing products
Manages development of R&D processes and ensures cross functional adherence
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of 8 years of Consumer Packaged Goods food technology experience
BS degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related field. MS degree preferred
3 - 5 years hands-on experience in a confectionery product development and commercialization role is required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides direct support in the day-to-day operations on network hardware and operating systems; duties include evaluation of system utilization, monitoring response time, and primary support for detection and correction of operational problems.

This person will support the Manager of Demand Planning through the S&OP process while working cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Product Development, and Sourcing.

Principle Responsibilities
Lead in developing and maintaining monthly forecasts for all finished goods parts using order and shipment history, customer point of sale data, market intelligence, and industry trends to inform the projected demand.
Work with sales, marketing, and product management to understand product life cycles, demand patterns, and short-, medium-, and long-term forecasts.
Develop and maintain monthly forecast accuracy and forecast bias metrics by customer, product family, and SKU.
Ensure proactive communication and delivery of targets for forecast accuracy and bias. Drive action plans for improvement in case of non-compliant KPIs.
Communicate and summarize forecast changes along with monthly performance and critical variances.
Schedule, prepare documentation, and moderate bi-monthly revenue call with sales leadership.
Run and maintain statistical forecasts in IBP. Analyze and articulate variances between statistical forecast, history, and customer forecast.
Develop and maintain weekly and monthly POS and inventory reports for key customers
Articulate and present POS, inventory levels, price points, store counts, and rate of sales observations to multiple levels within the organization

Lead the management and optimization of PepsiCo's internal consumer survey panel to deliver actionable insights that drive marketing and business decisions. This role ensures panel health, engagement, and strategic utilization while overseeing complex brand equity tracking. The role may also include broader consulting on 1P/consumer data insights/analytics initiatives
Responsibilities
Panel Management & Strategy
* Maintain overall health of the consumer survey panel, ensuring data quality and representativeness.
* Develop and implement recruitment and engagement strategies to grow and sustain panel participation.
* Advise cross-functional teams on best practices for leveraging the panel to meet research objectives.
Survey Design & Execution
* Identify appropriate panelists for each study based on targeting criteria.
* Design survey questionnaires and logic aligned with research goals.
* Manage consumer communications throughout the survey lifecycle.
* Monitor survey performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure timely completion.
* Analyze survey results and deliver clear, actionable insights to stakeholders.
Brand Equity Tracking
* Own and oversee the brand equity tracking capability within the panel
* Ensure consistency, accuracy, and timeliness of brand health metrics.
* Partner with analytics and marketing teams to integrate tracking insights into strategic planning.
Collaboration & Governance
* Work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to align on objectives and measurement plans.
* Champion data-driven decision-making and ensure compliance with privacy and ethical standards.
Compensation and Benefits:
* The expected compensation range for this position is between $106,400 - $178,100.
* Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process.
* Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 12% of annual salary paid out annually.
* Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.
