Webmaster job description

Job Purpose:
This position is responsible for developing and maintaining content for the LABOR Website.

Job Duties:

Organizes, develops and updates the LABOR, GWIB, and Intranet web sited in order to maximize the accuracy, presentation of page content. Develops, designs, test and maintains online web pages and applications to allow external and internal customers the ease of completing tasks related to LABOR and Intranet services that were previously required by submission of paper documents in person or by mail, or communication by telephone.
Provides integration input to units developing Web applications. Reviews work prior to publication on the Web, ensuring 508 disability compliance for the web site as well as testing functionality, reviewing design, and ensuring accuracy and ease of use of customers.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: An Associate of Arts degree from an accredited college or university in Web Development, Computer Information Technology, Management Information Systems or other information technology related field to include course work in web page design, development and programming.

Experience: One year of experience in web page design, development and programming.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate and an additional eighteen months of experience using software which converts other documents into web pages; or using web page developmental software; or writing HTML code; or converting data from project specifications by preparing program code using computer programming languages; or evaluating, implementing and maintaining computer hardware and software; or operating, manipulating, and controlling computer systems for the required education.

2. Candidates may substitute graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate and completion of an approved certification program for Web Professionals sufficient to provide the necessary skills to build and manage an organization's web site and to coordinate with inside and outside resources to accomplish that organization's web goals for the required education.

3. Candidates may substitute additional experience in web page design, development and programming on a year-for-year basis for a high school education.

4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Cyber and Information Systems classifications or Cyber and Information Systems specialty codes in the Information Technology field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

BPM is looking for a highly skilled, detail oriented, experienced webmaster to join our passionate Marketing & Corporate Development team. This role is responsible for managing the firm's web presence, ensuring that our websites are user-friendly and up to date, and safeguarding BPM's websites. The webmaster will work with the marketing team to expand BPM's digital presence through enhanced design, updated content, and implementation of new website features that improve the user experience and interaction. The webmaster is extremely knowledgeable in website development, UI/UX design, content management, server management and online security, and have solid coding skills

Responsibilities: How You'll ContributeMeet with marketing leadership regularly to discuss current and future functionality Contribute to discussions on ways to improve usability and efficiency Gather and analyze website update requirements Serve as the key contact for all aspects of BPM's websites Monitor security and perform all necessary updates Ensure compliance with firm policies, procedures, and standards, along with applicable state and federal laws and regulations including data security, privacy, and intellectual property laws Make all necessary updates to the company site, minimizing downtime Update content to reflect current SEO trends Repair any broken links and fix any reported bugs Monitor and report all web traffic and similar data, identify opportunities to improve SEO, time on site, web traffic, and additional relevant metrics Maintain virtual and cloud-based servers, optimizing speeds Maintain ADA website compliance Maintain current knowledge of best practices and emerging developments in web design, web development, and technology.Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Who You Are5+ years of experience managing websites Experience with WordPressBachelor's degree in computer science or related field; master's degree is a plus Extensive knowledge of website management, analytics, design, and SEO best practices and standards Leadership and/or management experience Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills Able to manage multiple websites Strong working knowledge of all relevant coding languages (PHP, JavaScript, HTML/CSS) Capable of utilizing web content management systems (WordPress, Sitefinity, etc.) Excellent communicator, especially regarding abstract concepts Other Skills and Knowledge:Industry (accounting) knowledge is ideal but not required Evidence of continuing education, such as certifications, is a plus Physical Demands And Work Environment: Sitting at desk long periods and working on laptop Using multiple monitors

BPM COVID Vaccination Policy

Activities

Support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Electronic Health Record Modernization Integration Office (EHRM-IO) as a SharePoint Webmaster.
Serve as SharePoint Webmaster for the Office of the Deputy Chief Information Officer (ODCIO) Operations team and support the ODCIO SharePoint site. Update, improve, and manage the existing ODCIO SharePoint site to design and implement data collection tools and techniques to ensure that the appropriate integrity, frequency, and confidence is achieved by:

• Updating existing site by migrating and optimizing data to enable visualizations as well as help automate processes through the use of Power Aps
• Performing data discovery, cleansing, validation and data relationship management functions
• Designing data visualization mock-ups and business intelligence platform-based on customer requirements ensuring data visualizations reflect the appropriate context to inform decision-making
• Working with technical teams to design and iterate dashboards based on customer feedback
• Leveraging data infrastructure guidance to ensure dashboard updates are streamlined and repeatable.

Provide support, including:

• Deploying requested metrics capture lists
• Maintaining data connections with external and internal data sources
• Developing and updating forms
• Programming workflows
• Develop wire frames and clickable prototypes
• Visualizes data from multiple sources in easily consumable manners
• Create logical drill downs and user interfaces
• Comb through data sources and organize in appropriate fashion
• Perform project management activities, tracking status, and planning
• Work collaboratively with senior leadership to determine metrics, measures, and data needs

Requirements:


Minimum qualifications:

• 5+ years of professional work experience
• Must be able to work with program and project leaders to define and create the architectural depictions and documents, ensuring logical flow, and address all issues
• Must have experience with a variety of software programs and languages and has some experience in programming
• Must be able to design and discuss system strategies for platform, applications and networks
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or other Engineering or technical discipline, or an additional 8 years of relevant experience may be substituted for degree requirements

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in the VA
• Experience implementing Electronic Health Records
