Job Description:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:
Ensure the accuracy and appropriateness of all prescriptions filled by completing Drug Utilization Review and Final Quality Assurance, applicable to state and federal Board of Pharmacy regulations.
Build profitable business and script growth through recommended clinical programs including appropriate immunization and when available MTM (Medication Therapy Management) and all ongoing other programs as identified.
Responsible to align performance objectives to the 7 key department metrics that are measurable for effectiveness and efficiencies within your control of the Department. Works with the pharmacy manager on controlling inventories by helping track weekly sales, may order various pharmaceutical stock in order to meet customer demand and maximize profits.
Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with medical-related issues and providing healthcare counseling.
Supervise the work completed by Pharmacy Technicians and support staff while on duty. Assist Pharmacy Manager to train, coach, and manage Pharmacy associates.
Assume management responsibility over the entire pharmacy in the absence of the Pharmacy Manager.
Demonstrates open communication with operations and pharmacy management to ensure the success of our pharmacy is upheld.
Maintain appropriate security of the Pharmacy department.
Comply with all federal and state laws and regulations.
Handle and resolve customer issues, complaints and questions to build customer trust and loyalty.
Interact with physicians and utilize reference material to gain information on customers and prescriptions and to resolve any issues that arise.
Assist with maintaining the Pharmacy department by keeping it clean and in order. Assists manager with the ongoing training and development of department personnel to improve performance, ensure continuous development, reduce turnover and control labor costs.
Prioritize Pharmacy Department tasks and follow through to ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner. Including, but not limited, to cycle counts, inventory management and will-calls to customers.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position includes the supervision of pharmacy technicians and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Weis Markets policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, directing, rewarding, and disciplining associates; appraising associate performance; and resolving complaints.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, the associate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required:
Bachelor's degree (BS), Doctoral degree (PHARM.D.), or equivalent in Pharmacy, and Immunization Certification through an accredited organization (i.e., APhA).

Job Responsibilities
Maintain store to the needs of the Store and Team Leaders, while giving exemplary customer service to each customer by meeting their needs while completing their order, including selling and preparing product.
Ring up customers' orders by scanning product or punching price into register, finalize sale and collect payment by totaling order, deducting for coupons, and accepting tender from customer.
Bag orders by putting grocery orders into the appropriate bags and then into customers carts.
Process guest returns/exchanges, assist with lottery and Western Union purchases.
Take customer orders for later purchase in person or over the phone by writing down the order indicating product desired and date to be picked up.
Maintain a clean an organized and clutter free backroom/receiving area operation.
Ensure that Direct Store Delivery vendors are delivering product to the receiving area during the established delivery times and schedules and that the number of vendors in the backroom at one time doesn't exceed proper levels.
Maintain proper temperature checks on all "hot" foods in prepared foods department.
Set up and maintain prepared foods case with fresh items and set up and maintain salad bar.
Maintain a safe/secure environment in the receiving area by adhering to the company's prescribed safety methods.
Record time worked according to Smart track policy and procedure.
Slice bread by placing loaves in slicer, packaging product, labeling package, and place on display.
Remove bakery packaging and labeling; check dates on bakery product and maintain stock in bakery area.
Finish product as necessary in Fresh departments (slice/ write on cakes etc.).
Document and record all known loss for Fresh departments.
Ensure quality control in produce and fresh departments, including documenting and recording all know loss for the departments.
Assist store leadership with inventory management, AR and ordering functions, and code dating.
Maintain cleanliness of equipment, floor (to ensure safety), and ensure sanitation regulations are met.
Keep parking area and fuel area clean.
Maintain safety as the top priority in all aspects of our work, for our Team Members, guests, and products.

* Education Desired: High school degree or equivalent and current enrollment in an ACPE-accredited pharmacy degree program
* Certification or Licensing Required: Pharmacy; Active in-state Pharmacy Intern License
* Lifting Requirement: Up to 25 pounds
Job Responsibilities
* Maintain proper inventory levels by submitting on line order, adding and adjusting order points, order quantities and on-hand counts in the computer and assisting manager in preparation of physical inventories
* Maintain a neat and clean work environment to ensure Company and government requirements are met.
* File written prescriptions daily.
* Assist Team Members with tasks to ensure department runs efficiently.
* Review all appropriate service and business metrics and assist team on action plans to improve outcome.
* Perform all regular duties of Pharmacy Technician.
* Welcome and acknowledge patients at all pharmacy entry points immediately and with compassion and a smile.
* Model excellent patient care by respecting, engaging and enthusiastically meeting or exceeding all patient needs including processing orders in person and by phone, directing patients to products and merchandise and referring appropriate questions concerning prescriptions and over the counter medicine to the pharmacist.
* Finalize sales using cash register according to established procedures including the point of sale policies.
* Perform all supporting duties to contribute to the safe and efficient dispensing of all patient medication and durable medical equipment by following all quality assurance policy and procedures including the selection and counting of medication.
* Comply with all Giant Eagle and Pharmacy policies including HIPAA and pseudoephedrine regulations.
* Enter patient personal data and insurance information.
* Enter all prescription information including calculations, free form directions, medication and durable medical equipment specifications.
* Ensure proper documentation for transmitting information to insurance companies, reviewing profiles for appropriate billing choices.
* Alert pharmacists appropriately for drug utilization reviews, calling and resolving third party rejections and rebilling claims, entering and processing refills and adding patients to Refills on Time Program.
* Process medical expense reports.
* Assist in the execution of all company initiatives and programs.

The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:
Ensure the accuracy and appropriateness of all prescriptions filled by completing Drug Utilization Review and Final Quality Assurance, applicable to state and federal Board of Pharmacy regulations.
Build profitable business and script growth through recommended clinical programs including appropriate immunization and when available MTM (Medication Therapy Management) and all ongoing other programs as identified.
Responsible to align performance objectives to the 7 key department metrics that are measurable for effectiveness and efficiencies within your control of the Department. Works with the pharmacy manager on controlling inventories by helping track weekly sales, may order various pharmaceutical stock in order to meet customer demand and maximize profits.
Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with medical-related issues and providing healthcare counseling.
Supervise the work completed by Pharmacy Technicians and support staff while on duty. Assist Pharmacy Manager to train, coach, and manage Pharmacy associates.
Assume management responsibility over the entire pharmacy in the absence of the Pharmacy Manager.
Demonstrates open communication with operations and pharmacy management to ensure the success of our pharmacy is upheld.
Maintain appropriate security of the Pharmacy department.
Comply with all federal and state laws and regulations.
Handle and resolve customer issues, complaints and questions to build customer trust and loyalty.
Interact with physicians and utilize reference material to gain information on customers and prescriptions and to resolve any issues that arise.
Assist with maintaining the Pharmacy department by keeping it clean and in order. Assists manager with the ongoing training and development of department personnel to improve performance, ensure continuous development, reduce turnover and control labor costs.
Prioritize Pharmacy Department tasks and follow through to ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner. Including, but not limited, to cycle counts, inventory management and will-calls to customers.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position includes the supervision of pharmacy technicians and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Weis Markets policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, directing, rewarding, and disciplining associates; appraising associate performance; and resolving complaints.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, the associate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required:
Bachelor's degree (BS), Doctoral degree (PHARM.D.), or equivalent in Pharmacy, and Immunization Certification through an accredited organization (i.e., APhA).
