What You'll Work On
Mechanical TIG fabrication / welding of stainless steel for commercial kitchens, food-service equipment, and mechanical rooms
Installing and fabricating hydronic piping systems (chilled water, heating hot water, condenser water)
Welding, brazing, grooving, threading, soldering, and system layout
Reading and interpreting blueprints, isometrics, and piping diagrams
Installing pumps, heat exchangers, expansion tanks, valves, and supports
Testing, flushing, and commissioning hydronic systems
Leading small crews on installs (if experienced)
What You Bring
4-6+ years of mechanical pipefitting experience
TIG welding certification (stainless steel experience required)
Experience working with stainless steel, copper, PVC, HDPE
Experience with commercial kitchen installs or hydronic piping
Ability to weld to code-quality standards (food service & mechanical)
Foreman/lead experience is a plus - or the desire to grow into leadership

Reporting to the Structural Welding Supervisor, the Structural Welder will be responsible for welding structural steel (c-channels) to fabricate the framing for sheet metal enclosure buildings using welding equipment and techniques. This position uses the FCAW process.
1st shift: Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
What a typical day looks like:
Plans details of work order procedures; gathers required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the job.
Lay out, position, align, and secure parts prior to assembly
Weld structural steel (c-channels) in flat, vertical, or overhead positions using welding techniques and equipment
Clamp, hold, or tack weld parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding
Determine required equipment and welding techniques, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques
Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area.
Notifies supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered.
Complete all other duties as assigned
The experience we're looking to add to our team:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Completion of a formal apprenticeship OR 2+ years' experience in dual shield welding process
Certification required: AWS D1.1 FCAW (Flux Core Arc Welding)
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to pass respirator fit test
Must wear PPE, such as respirator, welding equipment, gloves, safety glasses, hard hat, and ear protection, while working on the production floor
Must be able to weld components that are vertical, flat, or overhead
Must have enough manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work.
Must be able to see details at close range

The role of Welder includes construction of various fabricated parts and assembly from engineered prints by cutting, fitting, and welding.
Responsibilities
· Operates welding equipment to fabricate components and assemblies including structural frames, and piping.
· Read blueprints and drawings to build designed fabrications.

Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings. This includes welding symbols and fabrication instructions on blueprints.

Material handling assist in loading and unloading metal stock, moving parts between workstations and preparing raw materials for senior fabricators.
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.
Operate fabrication machinery, grinders, torches, and cutting tools.
Ensure all work meets OSHA safety standards and internal quality requirements.
Assist with installation or repair of billboards when needed (including occasional travel to job sites).
Maintain welding equipment and tools in good working condition.
Keep work area clean, organized, and free of hazards.
Performs similar or related duties as required or assigned.
Work Environment
This work environment is mostly outdoors in all weather conditions.

Requirements
Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in welding preferred.
Certification in welding (AWS or equivalent) is a plus.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
Proficiency in MIG and Stick welding; TIG experience is a bonus.
Comfortable working at heights and outdoors when necessary.
Strong attention to detail, safety, and craftsmanship.
Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and stand for extended periods.
Strong desire to develop a career in metal fabrication and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
