1st shift (6:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.)
2nd shift (3:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m.). The position will train on 1st shift (6:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.) for approximately three months.
As a Welding Machine Operator, you will perform a variety of standard operations to operate a computer-controlled welding machine to produce welded wire mesh to meet production schedule requirements, meet all quality specifications, perform set-ups, changeovers and assist with routine maintenance. The Welding Machine Operator does not physically perform the welding, the machine does.
Requirements
High School Diploma required or its equivalent with 2-5 years of experience as a machine operator or very good mechanical aptitude
Must be able to work independently
Must be detail oriented and organized
Maintain a clean work area
Lifting requirements up to approximately 50 lbs.
Maintain high levels of efficiency and quality

Essential duties and responsibilities:
Work from specification sheets, job orders and verbal instructions
Ensure that all wires are properly positioned for feeding into the welder
Maintain continual visual inspection of product and process for proper positioning, welding, and cutting
Clean and maintain welding electrodes on a regular basis and make minor adjustments to machine as needed
Perform and record prescribed quality checks
Inform supervisor of any processing or operating problems
Remove welded rolls of mesh from rollers
Palletize finished rolls
Monitor wire field
Perform general preventative maintenance task
Help other machine operators as needed

The Welder Fitter A performs a wide variety of complex and customized welding duties on standard and custom engineered parts. They perform very complex custom weldment fit up on tanks and heat exchangers of all sizes and weights using the gas metal arc welding/flux cored arc welding (GMAW/FCAW) welding process. This role directs other team members on their tasks when working in tandem on the same vessel and they perform the most complicated and dangerous rigging tasks when moving large vessels.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Works independently using drawings, specifications, WPS and verbal instructions.
Uses various types of welding equipment and a variety of common hand and power tools.
Will fit up and fully weld the most complex heat exchangers and tanks including custom fabrications and extremely complex tanks, with minimal guidance by reading and interpreting standard and custom part drawings. This can take place at elevated heights, while working on top of tanks or from elevated work platforms.
Completes the most complicated welding repairs and performs final welding operations on complex weldments as needed.
Must be able to perform confined space welding as needed.
Uses FCAW/GMAW welding process, with or without backing, in the flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions, on both steel and stainless-steel materials.
Will weld full penetration welds on small diameter pipe using the GMAW process.
Must be able to use a scissor lift when needed to access welding work at heights.
Interacts with the Engineering team on designs and fabrication challenges as needed.
Reads appropriate Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) and is capable of interpreting welding variables and assures that all parameters within the WPS are adhered to.

Position Summary:
The Welder Fitter A performs a wide variety of complex and customized welding duties on
standard and custom engineered parts. They perform very complex custom weldment fit
up on tanks and heat exchangers of all sizes and weights using the gas metal arc
welding/flux cored arc welding (GMAW/FCAW) welding process. This role directs other
team members on their tasks when working in tandem on the same vessel and they
perform the most complicated and dangerous rigging tasks when moving large vessels.

Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Works independently using drawings, specifications, WPS and verbal instructions.
Uses various types of welding equipment and a variety of common hand and power tools.
Will fit up and fully weld the most complex heat exchangers and tanks including
custom fabrications and extremely complex tanks, with minimal guidance by reading
and interpreting standard and custom part drawings. This can take place at elevated
heights, while working on top of tanks or from elevated work platforms.
Completes the most complicated welding repairs and performs final welding
operations on complex weldments as needed.
Must be able to perform confined space welding as needed.
Uses FCAW/GMAW welding process, with or without backing, in the flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions, on both steel and stainless-steel materials.
Will weld full penetration welds on small diameter pipe using the GMAW process.
Must be able to use a scissor lift when needed to access welding work at heights.
Interacts with the Engineering team on designs and fabrication challenges as needed.
Reads appropriate Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) and is capable of interpreting welding variables and assures that all parameters within the WPS are adhered to.
Performs the most complex lifting/rigging activities using 10- & 20-ton cranes.
Monitors quality of work makes corrective adjustments and reports equipment malfunctions, defective materials or other unusual conditions to supervisor.
Maintains necessary records, completes transactions within the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and accesses company intranet as needed for work instructions.
Ensures their own safety and that of team members.
Troubleshoots engineering drawings and reviews with management when issues are identified.
Maintains work area in neat, clean, and orderly condition and observes all safety regulations and practices.

Must be able to pass American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Section IX welding tests with the following variables:
FCAW/GMAW and SAW processes

7+ years of welding experience using drawings, specifications, charts and welding equipment

Essential Functions of this position may include but are not limited to:
* Pipe welders should be qualified to perform 100% x-ray quality welds on chromes/stainless/Inconel/carbon/ nickel copper/copper nickel using GTAW process.
* Work in other crafts at levels appropriate to training and skills as requested by project supervision.
* Assist with joint fit up and final weld joint alignment to include some rigging and lifting if necessary.
* Ideal candidates will be proficient with SMAW/STICK, GTAW/TIG ? 6G position
* Performs welding processes on pipe; manual; standard bevel
* Plan, lay‐out, weld, install, and repair all types of pipe and similar tubular products in accordance with applicable plans, specifications, welding codes and industry standards utilizing a variety of hand‐welding or flame‐cutting equipment.
* Use appropriate hand (i.e. wrap around, files) and power tools (i.e. cutting torch) to properly measure, cut, assemble, weld and install all types of structural steel components; install supports, valves and other control equipment; test installed systems and install all other related items in accordance with the applicable plans and specifications; must be familiar with properties of metal machining, weld shrinkage and welding techniques; bolts, clamps or other welding related equipment; weld components according to specific process and code; and install all other items in accordance with the applicable plans and specifications. Weld components in flat, vertical, horizontal, or overhead positions. Clamp hold, tack‐weld, heat‐bend, grind, or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding.
* Must be able to set up machine including safely running lines and be able to adjust gas flow and pressure so that desired flames are obtained. Knowledge of operation of welding equipment electrodes, fluxes and shielded gases and welding processes.
* Must have the ability to weld with a mirror.
* Requires occasional working in confined space work environment with the potential of extreme temperature exposure, chemical exposure, and radiation exposure during an 8-to-12-hour shift.
* Welds on site must pass quality audits on a continuous basis.
* Knowledge of carbon steel, stainless steel, copper nickel, nickel copper, Inconel and other alloy metals.
* Understand, support, and follow lockout tag out procedures. Attend site specific training and assure you follow all procedures as out lined in training.
* Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
* Use effective verbal and written communication skills. Add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers and fractions rapidly and accurately.
* Produce quality work, meeting requirements of plans, specifications, and industry standards.
* Read and understand plans and specifications, including diagrams, prints, orthographic and isometric drawings and visualize two dimensional drawings in three dimensions.
* Comply with Company Code of Conduct and jobsite policies.
* Perform all other job-related duties as requested by supervisor.
* Experience in submarine piping is a plus.

Job Requirements
Qualification, education, and experience requirements:
* At least five years of pipe welding experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in an industrial or shipyard setting.
* Must pass the welding test on the specific procedures and welding code that is to be performed on the project.
* Must have a strong working knowledge of the pipe welder craft and various welding codes and specifications.
* Experience with EB ring consumable inserts highly preferred.
* Ability to understand and follow directions.
Successful candidate must possess the willingness and ability to complete and pass all pre-employment and employment screening requirements which may include but are not limited to: Practical skills, COVID-19, other medical, psychological (if required by site), background and substance abuse screening(s).
Weld Test Requirements:
* GTAW welding of 1' Inconel butt weld with MIL-82H consumable insert ring and MIL-RN82H filler wire.
* GTAW welding of 1' carbon steel butt weld with MIL-MS-2 consumable insert ring and ER70S-3 filler wire.
* GTAW welding of 2 - ?' CRES socket welds (4F/5F positions) with MIL-RN82H Inconel filler wire.
* GTAW welding of 2 - ?' carbon steel socket welds (4F/5F positions) with ER70S-3 filler wire.
* All tests are restricted in accordance with NAVSEA Technical Publication S9074-AQ-GIB-010/248 Figure 21.
Physical Requirements:
* Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 50 pounds.
* Stand, Kneel, Bend, Stoop, move in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven areas, see and hear naturally or with correction.
* Full range of motion and flexibility consistent with requirements of the job duties.
* Requires using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls according to a set procedure.
* Requires repetitive movement.
* Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.
* Work up to a 12-hour shift doing hard physical labor in varying temperature extremes and other outside conditions.
Work Environment:
* Typical construction site environment
* Requires working in cramped workspaces and getting into awkward positions.
* Requires working in very hot (above 90 F degrees) or very cold (below 32F degrees) temperatures and exposure to inclement weather such as dust, wind, snow, rain, etc.
* Requires working in extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions
* Includes exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable.
* Work around hazardous equipment.

Properly use fillet and butt gauges.

Position Description:
The TIG welder is responsible for producing aerospace parts via TIG welding processes. This position requires experience, and you must demonstrate your ability to weld during the interview process.
Essential Responsibilities:
Weld using TIG equipment.
Deburr parts using handheld tools.
Cleaning and washing parts to remove manufacturing oils, dirt and debris.
Ensure continuous production of parts that meet customer expectations.
Inspect completed parts using micrometers, indicators, calipers, comparators, etc.
Maintain quality standards through understanding of the Quality Management System.
Monitor and document operational and performance issues and provide feedback to supervisor.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with peers, supervisor and other staff.
