Welding & Fabrication: Follow drawings, cut, fit and weld to customer's specifications on their location or in shop. Repair and/or replace various types of metal using welding, cutting, torching and fitting techniques.
Mechanical Maintenance: Troubleshoot, repair and/or replace motors, gearboxes, bearings, pulleys and other material handling components on customer's locations and in our service center.

POSITION SUMMARY

Set up equipment and weld parts, using arc, gas-shielded arc, submerged arc, or gas welding equipment.
Troubleshoot equipment.
Produce high-quality welds, including watertight penetrations with a variety of materials including weld steel, stainless, and aluminum.
Work with minimal supervision.
Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Education/ Experience: High school diploma or GED equivalence plus three to five years of pipe welding experience desired. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Requires working knowledge of equipment, work processes, and techniques used in measuring fitting and welding steel. Requires x-ray pipe welding experience with the ability to weld pipe in all positions and mirror weld. Requires knowledge of welding symbols, ship terminology, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and American Bureau of Shipbuilding (ABS) standards. Must pass SMAW 6G Pipe Test to become ABS Certified.
Skills: Ability to read and comprehend written, verbal, or diagram forms or plans. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written and verbal instructions. Ability to read and understand blueprints. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors and employees. Five (5) or more years of welding experience.
Valid Driver's License and ability to drive on behalf of company business.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred knowledge on the following topics:
Operational characteristics of a variety of heavy, power-driven equipment.
Maintenance requirements of heavy, power-driven equipment.
Methods and materials used in general construction and maintenance work.
Principles and techniques of field maintenance activities.
Traffic laws, ordinances, and rules involved in heavy equipment operation.
Occupational hazards and standard safety practices.
Welding Machine set-up: Mig/Tig welding and hard facing of carbon; low alloy steels using solid and
flux-cored wire; finishing of welds (chipping, grinding, sanding).
Fabricating carbon, stainless and low alloy steels; Blueprint Reading and Weld Symbols (AWS and
ISO); Weld joint prep; Hand plasma and oxy/fuel torches.
The following safety training is preferred, but not mandatory. Company will provide additional training, as necessary.
40 Hour HAZWOPER training.
Competent Person Safety Training
8-Hour Supervisory Training
30-Hour OSHA Construction Safety Training
First Aid and CPR
Physical Demands & Work Environment
This role requires lifting up to 50 pounds, extended standing or walking on project sites, climbing in and out of equipment,
and working in confined spaces or at heights. Work conditions and demands may vary, with possible exposure to heavy
machinery, chemicals, dust, fumes, noise, and extreme weather. Proper PPE, including protective eyewear, gloves, a
hard hat, and steel-toed boots, is required. Effective communication, tool use, and adherence to safety protocols are
essential.
