Advex Corporation is seeking an experienced Marine and Industrial Pipe Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate will have shipboard and industrial welding experience and a strong understanding of various welding processes, including SMAW, GTAW, and GMAW/MIG. A hands-on weld test will be required, which includes Cuni socket and butt weld tests, as well as carbon steel butt welds using 309 filler metal, all performed in a 6G or 6GR position. Key Responsibilities: Perform multi-pass, all-position fillet and butt welds using SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc), and GMAW/MIG (Gas Metal Arc Welding) processes. Weld carbon steel, stainless steel, and copper-nickel pipes using SMAW and GTAW processes, including fusion inserts and open root welding. Execute mirror welds using SMAW and GTAW processes. Use an oxygen/propane heating torch for pre-heating materials as required. Utilize fillet gauges, butt gauges, and a six-inch scale to ensure accurate measurements and weld quality. Work in physically demanding environments such as shipboard settings, sub-assemblies, ladders, and staging areas. Adhere to all OSHA safety regulations, particularly those relevant to shipbuilding and industrial environments.
