Duties for this position include: Read and interpret layout details and parts lists, as well as use tape measure and calipers Lay out, position, and secure parts and assemblies according to print or diagram specifications Adjust valves, amperage, or voltage to obtain desired flame or arc Tack-weld or welds components and assemblies, using MIG welding equipment Heats, forms, cuts, and dresses metal parts using hand tools, torch, or arc gouging equipment Welds components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions Compensation (USD): 1st Shift $18.50/hour 2nd Shift$19.50/hour Schedule: 1st Shift 6:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. or 7:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. 2nd Shift 6:00 p.m. - 4:30 a.m. Successful candidates must meet the following requirements: Must wear steel-toe shoes Must wear welding hood and leathers Must pass Welding Test No GED/Diploma required No certification necessary Must pass Drug Screen WHY APPLY FOR A JOB AT METRO SERVICES? Become Familiar with Tools and Equipment. Use a variety of hand and power tools in performing duties. Learn to Diagnose Problems. Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines. Plan, lay out, install, and repair a wide variety of complex equipment. Perform Maintenance. High School Diploma or GED is required. Technical school is preferred. Functional Knowledge. Must have thorough knowledge of welding material, welding properties, and various types of metals. Must be able to interpret blueprints. Must be able to wire feed welding machines to hard face and fabricate and repair liners. Welding Skills. Must have welding experience. Must be able to perform brazing, welding, arc-welding, and cutting tasks. Flexibility. Must be willing to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands. Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises. Mechanical Skills.
