Develops welding, sequences, techniques and procedures associated with 300 series stainless and high nickel based alloy including combination aluminum and steel. Performs welding Parts and/or assemblies subject to pressure such as aqueous lines, structural and/or stress assemblies, complete manifold assemblies, and part and/or subassemblies of light gauge material. Setup and operate resistance welding equipment as required with little or no supervision. Setup, fit-up, trimming, position, align, clamp, bolt, and tack-weld diversified and involved structural assemblies and subassemblies. Works in conjunction with customer surveys and teams, and with vendors, subcontractors and suppliers in audits and selling situations projecting a positive company image. Setup operation to weld production assemblies and/or subassemblies developing procedures as required, for qualification, certification and/or making weld schedules on various types of metals. Rework self-detected defects based upon Engineering disposition approval. Performs tasks as related to fit-up and finishing incidental to the process. Performs daily maintenance and minor machine repairs on all types of weld equipment. Keeps work area clean Performs all other task as may be assigned by management Trains other employees. Qualifications High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Two to three years related experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred) Two year certificate from college or technical school and/or training; or three yeas related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
