* Reads and interprets drawings to determine parts needed to assemble pole assembly. Locate and gather Storeroom Personnel staged parts needed for assembly from parts staging area. Frequently pushes, pulls, and lifts up to 50 pounds.
* Reads and interprets drawing to assure proper location of various small part attachments. Layout various locations on round tube or formed shaft based upon interpretation of drawings and specifications.
* Uses measuring tape, level, square, and angle finders to measure distances and angles. Adds, subtracts, multiplies, and divides feet, inches, fractions, and decimals. Uses table to convert fractions to decimals and decimals to fractions.
* Uses plasma torch and oxy-fuel torch to cut steel. Uses jigs made at Sabre/Texas for laying out vang slots and for cutting holes in shafts for inserting hand hole rims, arm mounting simplex, couplings, and other small parts. Wear protective goggles or welding hood to protect eyes from harmful rays.
* Moves around round tube or formed shaft as necessary to get into proper position to accurately measure and assemble components described above including standing on elevated platform when necessitated by the size of the shafts.
* Uses motorized grinders, motorized buffers, stone grinders, and drills to help assemble pole assembly according to prescribed specifications, codes and drawing. Wears protective face shield and safety glasses to protect eyes and face.
* Adjusts welding machine to achieve desired results within parameters of established welding procedures. Changes tips, ceramic cups, and electrodes in plasma torch as needed to achieve desired cutting results.
* Finish weld various products of the unit to keep the product moving through the large pole department in a timely manner. Reads and interprets weld symbols.
* Uses oxy-fuel torch to preheat parts prior to welding. Read codes and specifications to determine proper temperature and uses instruments provided to measure temperature.
* Uses chipping hammer, wire brush, motorized grinder, and motorized wire brush at various times to clean welded areas.
* Uses pneumatic drills and magnetic drills to drill and ream various sizes holes in poles as required by the drawing.
* Wears protective equipment, including safety glasses, insulated welding gloves, welding cap, leather sleeves, and/or cape, and welding hood for protection against hot metal, arc rays, grinding debris, and other potentially.
* Performs visual inspecting and identifies material discrepancies to assure welds have been completed satisfactorily in compliance with applicable drawings and specifications. Uses a weld gauge to measure weld size.
* When called for by the drawings and specifications, must produce full-penetration welds as defined by American Welding Society code. Uses air-arc gouger to remove weld defects, and rewelds to meet specifications.
* Uses overhead crane to load finished poles into bolsters for transportation out of the pole assembly area.
* Welds other products in other areas, using either Flux-Cored Arc Welding or Gas Metal Arc Welding process.
* Assist and instructs other welders and fitters when needed to overcome deficiencies in quality and/or productivity.
* Additional duties as assigned

Job Summary:
We are seeking skilled MIG Welders with experience in heavy structural fabrication and equipment assembly. Ideal candidates will be proficient in FCAW and GMAW welding processes and capable of performing welds in multiple positions. Key Responsibilities:
Perform MIG welding using FCAW (Flux Core Arc Welding) and GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding).
Weld in flat, overhead, horizontal, and vertical positions using 0.35 hardwire and 0.45 flux core.
Execute gouging processes and operate air arc equipment.
Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and work orders to complete welds to specification.
Use various hand and power tools, including grinders, cutting torches, drills, and welding guns.
Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and rigging equipment safely.
Conduct quality inspections and clean/improve welds to meet standards.
Maintain welding equipment and complete daily maintenance checklists.
Document production and quality activities using ERP software.
Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of MIG welding experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Proficient with flux core welding and gouging techniques.
Ability to pass a hands-on weld test.
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Trade school or technical training is a plus.
Must be able to read tape measures and blueprints accurately.
AWS 4G qualification skills required.
Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain).
Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates are encouraged to apply.
