Metal Prep Specialist / Welding Apprentice Department: Production / Welding Reports To: Production Manager and Welding Lead Rate: Non-Exempt / Hourly, $18-$19 The MTI Metal Prep Specialist is responsible for preparing metal parts and materials for fabrication, finishing, and assembly. This includes cleaning, grinding, sanding, deburring, and inspecting metal components to ensure they meet quality and production standards. The ideal candidate will have attention to detail, experience with metalworking tools, and a strong commitment to safety and efficiency. The end goal is to deliver quality precision parts for assembly of best-in-class MTI medical exam and procedure chairs. Key Responsibilities: Clean, deburr, and sand metal surfaces using hand tools, grinders, and power tools. Inspect raw and cut materials for defects, cleanliness, and conformity to specifications.
