Knowledge of crane operations (including rigging and signaling) Reading detailed erection and fabrication drawings. Planning the sequence and methods of fitting up, welding, repairing, and constructing tanks. Completing job safety analysis, safety audits, site-specific training, and other safety training. Position and operate manual, semi-automatic and automatic welding equipment to deposit single and multiple layers and weld in all positions at joint locations specified where care must be exercised to produce quality welds with uniform penetration. Location of parts is determined by others or by fixtures. Load and clamp material in fixtures against fixed stops. 5. Operate carbon arc torch to remove weldments from floorplate or strongback and braces from weldments. 6. Operate handling equipment to lift, move and position material. 7. Sign off operations completed and obtain first piece and final inspection signoffs on operation sheets as required. 8. Maintain tools, equipment, and work area in a clean and orderly condition. 9. Make proper time charge entries and record data as required. 10. Maintain in effect certification for welding ferrous and nonferrous metals and alloys and take and acceptably pass periodic working tests. 11. Identify parts in accordance with method specified.
