Role Summary:
The Customer Product Repair Technician, with a focus in welding is primarily responsible for repair and fabrication welding of new and customer property nuclear pump components. In addition, the CPRT will assist in processes related to disassembly, repair, and assembly of a range of equipment/products including but not limited to rotating equipment, pumps and components. The CPRT will work with team leads to execute work as provided on work instructions, routers, drawings, and checklists. The CPRT independently selects and uses the proper equipment required in welding operations as described by work instructions/routers. This position also ensures all forms and documentation are complete prior to submission to quality assurance and/or production supervisors.
Work hours: Monday to Friday from 7 am to 3:30 pm.
Location: Charlotte, NC.
Travel requirement: 10%
Responsibilities:
Ability to independently, accurately and efficiently weld repair/fabricate new and customer property pump components in the 2G, 3G and 6G positions.
Interface with production supervisor, shop lead, production planner, and project management.
Follow all routers, procedures and Flowserve best practices.
Significant experience with the proper and safe use of various common power and hand tools needed for assembly.
Utilize torches (and other heat sources) and liquid nitrogen properly and safely in the assembly process.
Accurately set up and read precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, and other gauges.
Ability to work efficiently within fixed time windows for each manufacturing process.
Communicate clearly to peers and supervisors any related job issues.
Coordinate and interface with production management, quality assurance and engineers as necessary.
Paint when required, tag, and prep equipment prior to shipment to the customer.
Utilize cranes, lifting devices, and fork trucks.
Willing to provide input on work process improvement and on developing new tools and hardware as part of on-going Continuous Improvement projects.
Work safely while helping colleagues work safely and utilizing Stop Work Authority when appropriate.
Comply with all Flowserve policies and procedures.

Requirements:
HS Diploma / GED
At least 3 years of experience in weld, repair/fabricate industrial equipment components in the 2G, 3G and 6G positions.
Handwork experience (power tools, cutting tools, precision measuring tools)
Attention to detail and process-oriented mindset with results driven background.
Basic computer skills including understanding of Microsoft Office Package
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced and changing work environment.

Tools should be relocated to their proper place after each use.

Ensure all paperwork needed for Weld function is replenished each day.

Cell walls / fans are to be wiped down no less than once a week.

Technique, Inc. is currently looking for a robotic welding technician who will use MIG/TIG welding equipment in accordance with job and customer demand, welding both stainless and carbon steel. The welder will support the quality assurance team with part layouts and inspections, requiring a basic knowledge of GD&T and print reading. They will also assist in the design, development and implementation of production fixturing, and operate and recover welding robots for all phases of production.
Job Responsibilities:
Ability to set up the welder and weld basic GTAW and GMAW mild steel joints
Ability to read and apply basic weld symbols
Ability to distinguish different material types
Understanding of weld fixture locations and return process
Ability to change over wire and gas for regular operations
Demonstrate ability to set up and troubleshoot projection welder and change settings accordingly
Basic blueprint reading test
Required:
High School Diploma or GED.
Vocational training (STEM Program, Career Center or Technical Trades Training).
2 years welding experience in an industrial setting

Compensation: Hourly wage based upon experience and skill set, plus per diem (to cover meals and lodging). Normal hourly wage paid for work-related travel (no overtime). Non-union. Occasional prevailing wage. Non-exempt. No PTO or paid holidays. Pay periods are weekly. Direct deposit is available.
Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision benefits are available on the first of the month following a 30-day probationary period. Phillips Tank pays approximately 60% and employee pays 40% of medical benefit premiums. Employee pays 100% for vision and dental benefit premiums.
Shift: Project work schedules vary. However, a typical work shift is daylight (10 hours per day, 5 days per week).

Day to Day Duties:
Performing arc and torch cutting and gouging.
Using generators, compressors, tuggers, blowers, grinders, and other power and air tools.
Welding plate with 7018, 7024 and 6010 stick (SMAW), flux core (FCAW), and submerged arc automatic machines (3 o’clock and “goat”/tractor).
Using come-alongs, hydraulic jacks, hoists, air bags, winches, and other lifting equipment.
Using tank shell buggies, tank scaffolding, tank ladders, and other specialty equipment.
Performing vacuum box tests, oil tests, dye penetrant tests, and other non-destructive quality examinations.
Using gas monitors, fresh air kits, respirators, emergency rescue kits, and other safety equipment.
Operating forklifts, man lifts, boom lifts, and other large lifting equipment.
Knowledge of crane operations (including rigging and signaling)
Reading detailed erection and fabrication drawings.
Planning the sequence and methods of fitting up, welding, repairing, and constructing tanks.
Completing job safety analysis, safety audits, site-specific training, and other safety training.
Follow directions and work professionally with other crew members.
Other duties as assigned.
