Role Responsibilities Operate trade-specific machinery and tools (e.g., calipers, weld gauges, tape measures). Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, weld symbols, P&IDs, and specifications. Create specific weldment setups and fixtures to meet geometric requirements. Perform high-quality welds including X-ray quality on pressure vessels and piping. Use and maintain welding equipment (e.g., overhead cranes, jib cranes, forklifts). Fit up weld joints using shop blueprints and rotator-specific techniques. Weld to ASME standards including B31.1, B31.3, and B31.9. Conduct preventative maintenance on weld machines and evaluate performance. Identify and communicate product defects to foreman. Support and train other welders and laborers as needed. Maintain a clean and safe work area. Assist foreman or superintendent with production tracking and order status. Perform other duties as assigned. 1st and 2nd shift- 15% Shift Differential Qualifications 5 years of general experience, 3 years of welding experience preferred. Prior successful completion of a 6G FCAW weld test required before hire. Must pass 6G FCAW weld test within one week of hire (FCAW, SMAW, GTAW, pulse preferred). Familiar with welding on rotators and corresponding fit-up. Experience with MIG, ARC, and preferably TIG welding processes. Knowledge of metallurgy and mechanical welding techniques. Familiarity with pipe trade tools (e.g., Two-Hole Pins, pipe wraps, center-finders). At 60 days: must have own set of hand tools. At 90 days: must meet production goals. Minimal supervision required; able to coordinate own tasks. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Good judgment and initiative in resolving issues. Minimum Physical Requirements and Accountability Work outside, inside, and in dusty, noisy, and hazardous areas. Work in high places, tight places, confined spaces, and in all weather conditions. Climb, balance, squat, kneel, and crouch. Lift, move, and/or carry up to 50 lbs. Comply with all company policies and procedures. Pay: $25-40/hr (DOE) Shift: 1st or 2nd ?We will now be offering an additional weld test for RK Energy. This will be a GMAW-MC 1G Rollout test. This is where the pipe is welded in a flat position on a pipe rollout machine. If candidates don't feel they can pass the 6g FCAW weld test, please ask them if they've ever welded on a roll out and if they can pass this test. I am including some additional information about Metal Core (MC). This should help you better understand how it differs from FCAW, as well as the weld test specs. I'm happy to answer any additional questions you may have. This will be a 2 hour weld test for Energy. It should be included on your submittals as 1G Rollout GMAW-MC in the same section as our existing testing info.. If they want to take the 6g and 1G make sure to include them both and this will be scheduled in 4 hour allowances to complete both tests. . 1G (Rollout) GMAW-MC (Metal Core) Test 1G means the pipe is positioned horizontally and can be rotated while welding. Think of it like spinning a soda can while trying to draw a straight line on it. GMAW-MC (Gas Metal Arc Welding - Metal Core) is a type of wire-fed welding that combines aspects of MIG (metal inert gas) welding with flux-core welding. It offers deep penetration and good weld quality. A well established, 70 year old worldwide custom manufacturing company is looking for multiple senior level TIG welders for permanent placement in their temperature controlled shop in Arvada, CO on either 1st or 2nd shift. The Welders will play a crucial role in the welding of components for use in industrial pump and compressor systems, which are custom engineered and built for oil and gas, chemical, hydrogen energy, and other growing industries. All prints will come from the in house engineering team. TIG welding will be done primarily on 1.5" diameter schedule 160 or 80 piping, and can go up to 8" diameter Schedule 160 full penetration welds on Stainless Steel and high nickel metals such as Inconel. Other responsibilities include Pipe/Tube bending and fabrication, tack welding, and Candidates will need to be able to work independently, and have the ability to learn and apply new information. Experience working with Pumps, Compressors, or valves is heavily preferred. 2nd shift will start off on 1st shift (6:00AM - 2:30PM).
