We are looking for skilled Welders and/or Fitters (knowledge of both is a plus) to cut and join metals and other materials at our Tangent, OR facility. Essential Job Functions 1. Perform FCAW (2G) welding. Be able to pass 2G test in FCAW on 1" thick coupon. 2. Operate air arc to remove steel (back gouging). 3. Grind with 90° angle grinder. 5. Read weld symbols and check weld size using weld fillet gauges. 6. Heat material to required temperature using temperature sticks and heating torch/cutting torch. Job Description SUMMARY The primary function of this position is for lays out, fits and welds fabricated components to assembly structures forms, such as machinery frames, tanks, and parts according to prints and knowledge of welding metallurgy. Selects equipment and plans layout, assembly, and welding, applying knowledge of geometry, physical properties of metal shrinkage and welding techniques. May operate other equipment such as overhead crane, forklift, high lift, crane truck. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES may include all or some of the following. Welding and fabrication of Tank building is a plus. TIG, MIG & Stick Welding skills preferred. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
