The Experienced Fabrication Welder is a more experienced welding role responsible for leading complex welding and fabrication tasks in MMF's shop. This individual will ensure high-quality production, mentor junior welders, and contribute to continuous improvement in shop operations.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
· Lead fabrication and welding of structural steel components using GMAW, SMAW, and FCAW processes.
· Interpret advanced blueprints, shop drawings, and welding specifications.
· Perform layout, fit-up, and final welding of complex assemblies.
· Conduct quality control checks and ensure compliance with AWS and project-specific standards.

Qualifications

· Advanced proficiency in GMAW, SMAW, and FCAW welding processes.
· Ability to use heavy machinery, such as forklifts and cranes

SUMMARY OF POSITION
Kinsley is currently seeking personnel for our mechanical trades with experience in Millwrighting & Welding based out of our Hagerstown, MD Office. Our work includes machinery moving, complete facility relocate, plant maintenance, field fabrication, piping disconnects and reconnects, and installation of various material handling systems.
TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Use instruments for precise layout.
Perform rigging work including jacking, skating, heavy forklift operation and loading/unloading trucks.
Perform steel erection including shake out, connections and detail work.
Perform installation of miscellaneous metals
Perform installation of conveyors, dryers, and other material handling equipment
Perform installation of equipment and piping in Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants
Field verify dimensions and perform field fabrication and fitting.
Working at heights utilizing ladders, man lifts, etc. is required.
Must be willing to work some weekends as needed for client shutdowns.
Must be willing to travel for “out of town” jobs as needed and some will require overnight stay.
REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or GED is required.
3-5 years of experience is preferred but not required.
Ability to pass DOT pre-employment physical and drug/alcohol screening.
Current driver's license is required.
Ability to operate man lifts, forklifts, telehandlers, skid steer loaders, etc. is a plus.
Must be familiar with or willing to learn OSHA and MSHA safety regulations.
Must be familiar with working around cranes and hand signals.
Willingness to multitask and strong communications skills are required.
Strong math skills are essential.
Welding with experience in MIG and stick welding in all positions is preferred.
Previous work experience installing equipment in heavy industry and/or the mining industry is preferred.

Position Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced Welder to join our team at the Salisbury, MD facility. The majority of welding involves flux-cored, dual-shielded processes, with some MIG welding. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to pass a DEM flux-cored welding assessment within the first month of employment.
Baseline Responsibilities and Required Skills:
Set up and operate common fabrication equipment, including welders, shears, saws, and grinders.
Weld components made of steel with precision and accuracy.
Read and interpret sketches, blueprints, and verbal instructions to complete tasks independently and as part of a team.
Basic understanding of welding principles and safety protocols

REPORTS TO: Fitting Supervisor/On-Site Foreman/Shipyard Superintendent
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Reading and Interpreting blueprints, fabricating metal components or structures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & TASKS:
Reading and interpreting engineering blueprints.
Constructing base templates if necessary.
Measuring and marking out cutting.
Operating metalwork machinery. i.e. rollers, drill presses, plasma cutters, pipe benders, and welding machines.
Mig weld 5083, 6061 T6, and 5086 grades of aluminum plate.
Tig weld stainless steel parts.
SMAW welding with 6010 & 7018.
Double-check design specifications before commencing with cutting work.
Fabricating and constructing metal components.
Grinding and finishing completed products.
Conforming with state and company safety regulations.
Inspect your work for accuracy and quality.
All other duties as assigned based on operational needs.
Requirements:
KNOWLEDGE:
Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience welding/fabricating aluminum
Must be able to set up welding machines and equipment (MIG,TIG, and SMAW)
