Eaton's ES GEIS BLD division is currently seeking a Welder - 2nd Shift. The core hours are 2:15pm to 10:45pm. The hourly rate for this position is 27.17 per hour. What you'll do: * Perform simple repetitive bench assembly of parts and components * Use bolts, screws, hand tools, clips and other fastening devices * Work under close supervision and may work from models, samples, or simple diagrams * Handle 50-pound parts to assist with large part construction * Support all facility Continuous Improvement and LEAN initiatives including, but not limited to: * Maintain 5-S (sort, set in order, shine, standardize, sustain) throughout shop floor and office areas. * Track and sustain all visual management tools such as, but not limited to: layered audits, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) boards, and any additional LEAN tools that are deemed necessary to provide direction, goals and status to the shop floor. * Encourage, support, and actively participate in Kaizen improvements and events throughout the facility, department, and area of responsibility. Full-time Description ENTEK is seeking applications for a talented Welder/Fabricator to build quality metal components for our clients and join us on-site at our Henderson, Nevada location (relocation within 40 miles of Henderson is required). As a Welder/Fabricator, you will read and interpret engineering blueprints, fabricate metal components or structures, and perform quality checks on finished products. In this role, you will work with different welding techniques, such as TiG and MiG welding, to weld a variety of metals, such as steel, stainless steel, and aluminum, to create a range of parts and assembled equipment that meet the required specifications. You will also perform tube and pipe welding MS. You will be responsible for building simple and complex fabrications based on prints such as tanks, frames, and hoppers from sheet metal and plate. To ensure success as an ENTEK Welder/Fabricator, you should have advanced knowledge of industrial metalwork, a good eye for detail, and excellent mathematical skills. Ultimately, a top-class metal fabricator expertly constructs high-quality products to exact specifications. What you will do: Read, interpret and follow basic blueprints and other written instructions or procedures to accurately create parts and ensure implementation according to welding specifications. Fabricate and manufacture metal parts for assembly. Operate various hand and power tools to complete tasks. Perform all welding work with help of forming and cutting equipment. Perform welding of various metal objects with help of gas torch and welder. Maintain weld machines using preventative maintenance methods. Evaluate weld machine performance regularly. Maintain inventory of manufacturing product and welding consumables. Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards. Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified. Rework and/or repair welded parts and products according to specification changes. Maintain a safe and healthful work environment by practicing safe work habits, good housekeeping procedures and adhering to safety guidelines. Wear appropriate protective equipment as required and in accordance with safety policies and OSHA standards. Assist with housekeeping and provide support in other areas as required. Other job related duties and special projects as assigned. Additional: Must be able to frequently lift and/or move objects up to 70 lbs. Education, Training and Experience Requirements Prior experience welding, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Familiarity with common welding tools and procedures, including MIG welding TIG welding, metal fabricating, grinding, and finishing metals. Capable of reading blueprints. Technologically savvy with experience in MS Office products and Windows-based computer applications. Specific technical or vocational training or certification. The spot welder joins metal parts using a tool that generates intense heat. A welder can also polish and smooth out metal surfaces they weld together. They will use either a computer to remotely control equipment or hand-held equipment to cut or join metal parts, fill a hole or fix seams in metal. Education/Experience Required: • A high school diploma or equivalent is essential; however, vocational or technical training in welding is highly preferred. • Hands-on experience in welding from previous jobs or apprenticeships can be crucial, even for entry-level positions. • Understanding safety protocols, and possession of safety certifications such as OSHA 10/30-hour training can be advantageous. • Continued education and certification renewal are often required to keep up with evolving welding technologies and methods. Physical Requirements: • Prolonged periods bending, standing, stooping, bending and working while welding various metal pieces. • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs at times.
