**Basic Qualifications:** + High School Diploma or GED equivalency. + 3 years welding experience. + Intermediate understanding of blueprint and process sheet interpretation. + Ability and willingness to use basic hand tools and measuring devices (verniers, micrometers, calipers, go-no go gauges, etc.) + Proficient in use of basic computer applications; Familiarity with weld and fusion principles. + Expert understanding of weld symbols and schedules.; Ability to pass visual acuity exam. + Willingness and ability to obtain certifications required for department. **Essential Functions & Responsibilities:** + Perform wire welding functions; Understand and apply basic principles of TIG welding. + Perform set up of jigs and fixtures; Perform non-structural tack welds + Perform secondary processing operations including sand blasting, wire brushing, and grinding. + Maintain welding equipment torches, coolers, hoses, cables, and other equipment as needed. + Work in compliance to NADCAP requirements, + Must pass review for workmanship, procedure reviews, operator assessment, & refresher training. + Possess the ability to perform welding functions in an area and/or product line outside of your home department. + Assist in new process development and troubleshooting of products. + Effectively & efficiently produce parts according to certification and quality guidelines + Frequent interaction with internal and/or external customers and support functions (i.e. - Planners, Engineering) outside of home department. + Train lower level employees, and work with limited supervision. The TIG Welder at our Baldwin, WI location is responsible for set up and welding of product. This is a 2nd shift onsite role, with hours Monday - Thursday 3:15 p.m. to 1:15 a.m. Role Responsibilities: * Performs set up and all position welding on a diversified line of standard and non-standard product according to print specifications. Materials may include steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. * Fit and position product weldments having several parts, using welding and welding fixtures and jigs where applicable. * Work from prints and routings. * Statistical process control (SPC) data collection and use of graphs (TIG welding). * Complies with all DOT, HAZMAT and environmental policies and procedures. * Uses all designated Personal Protective Equipment as required. Welder/Fabricator Pay: 25-35/hr. + 10% shift differential for 2nd shift Shifts: 1st: 7am to 3:30pm (Mon-Fri) 2nd: 2:30pm to 11pm (Mon-Fri) Requirements: HS Diploma or GED 2+ years of welding work experience Knowledge and experience in primarily Spray GMAW (MIG), GTAW (TIG), weld prep and plasma cutting. Experience operating bridge cranes and forklift trucks preferred. Must successfully complete a pre-employment weld test. Welding Certification from a recognized institution (preferred) Responsibilities: Spray GMAW (MIG), GTAW (TIG), weld prep and plasma cutting. Cut, bend, drill, tap, and similar operations as required to fabricate intricate assemblies. Operate bridge cranes and forklift trucks. Must be able to read engineering fabrication drawings, layout, and weld structural fabrications. Must follow written procedures and work instructions. As an employee, you must maintain an average weld efficiency rating of 70% or better.
