Caterpillar - North Little Rock utilizes a variety of welding processes within the facility. We have 15 robotic welding cells and over 30 different weld stations to complete daily builds. As a fabricator the main welding process is 0.052" GMAW (MIG) in the 1G/2G & 1F/2F positions. In addition, GTAW (TIG) and Stud Welding are utilized in some weld stations. **Candidates must pass the following Welder Qualification Tests at the completion of a Caterpillar provided 6-Week Weld School and 3 Weeks OJT:**
+ 0.052" GMAW - 2F - 8mm - Single Pass
+ 0.052" GMAW - 2F - 10mm - MULTI-PASS
+ 0.052" GMAW - 2G - 12.7mm - MULTI-PASS
+ 0.052" GMAW - 3F - 5mm
+ GTAW 3F-4F Toe dress
**Pay Rate and Schedule:**
+ Position includes a wage of $21.10/hour + Shift Differential on 2nd Shift.and a **comprehensive benefit program**
+ Openings available on **_2nd shift: Monday - Friday, 3 p.m - 11 p.m._** Overtime opportunities may be available on a voluntary basis based on business needs and with leader prior authorization
**Basic Qualifications:**

This worker performs fusion welding on aircraft and ground support equipment to a qualified Welding Procedures Specification (WPS), performs structural fusion welding on aerospace parts and components per the requirements of specifications as prescribed by Engineering Drawings and Work Orders. The incumbent is required to read and understand engineering drawings and welding symbols, fabricates manufacture-welded parts from engineering drawing without direct supervision, performs fusion welding and torch brazing for ground support equipment, ensuring the procedure is completed per the requirements of the national welding and brazing codes and specifications. This welder welds a wide variety of materials such as aluminum, magnesium, alloyed and low alloy steel, stainless steel and nickel alloy steels. The incumbent is required to have knowledge of the materials to select the correct filler materials and shielding gas when generating the Weld Procedure Specification (WPS), and produce flight critical welds and assist in the development process of generating Weld Procedure Specifications as mandated by welding codes and specifications. The Aerospace Structural Welder determines the sequence of welding in order to prevent or reduce the amount of warp to the weld, designs and fabricates weld holding fixtures as necessary to perform individual welding projects, performs pre-heat and post weld stress relief operations, maintains weld records. The incumbent performs duties as a Qualified Weld Inspector by inspecting own welds and those of less qualified welders, and performs duties such as training and re-certification in the various welding processes.
Skills and Knowledge: The Contractor shall be proficient in Aerospace Structural Welding processes, procedures, and techniques, utilizing technical drawings, welding equipment, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and as appropriate other equipment and tools.
Must be knowledgeable of technical directives, Air Force aviation maintenance programs, and shall be knowledgeable of and understand basic supply procedures.
Aerospace Structural Welder shall have experience writing with clarity and technical accuracy, and ensure adherence to all applicable policies and procedures.
Thorough working knowledge of applicable maintenance/technical manuals and publications.
Task Requirements:
Fabricate Jigs and Fixtures to facilitate repairs as required.
Utilize Jigs and Fixtures to facilitate repairs.

Perform close tolerance repairs.
Correctly identify and use proper aviation grades, temper, and thickness of sheet metal to fabricate repairs and replaces skins.

Job Description: FittersAfitter is responsible for the layout and assembly of fabricated parts in accordance with shop drawings using AISC and AWS standards. Pay: $23.00 - 25.00 Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Lays out, position, align and fit together fabricated parts of structural metal products in the shop, according to blueprint and layout specifications, preparatory to welding or riveting.
Locates and marks centerline and reference points onto floor or face block and transposes them to work piece.
Moves parts into position, manually or by hoist/overhead crane. Aligns parts and make ready for final assembly.
Adheres to all company safety and OSHA regulations.
The ability to work overtime and regular, punctual attendance is required.
Performs non-essential duties as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent with a certificate from Vo-Tech or Trade school in mechanics.
Must be able to fit most structural steel including beams, columns, braces, and simple frames.
Must have ability to fabricate any item produced by Prospect Steel.

As a fabricator the main welding process is 0.052" GMAW (MIG) in the 1G/2G & 1F/2F positions. In addition, GTAW (TIG) and Stud Welding are utilized in some weld stations. Candidates must pass the following Welder Qualification Tests at the completion of a Caterpillar provided 6-Week Weld School and 3 Weeks OJT:
* 0.052" GMAW - 2F - 8mm - Single Pass
* 0.052" GMAW - 2F - 10mm - MULTI-PASS
* 0.052" GMAW - 2G - 12.7mm - MULTI-PASS
* 0.052" GMAW - 3F - 5mm
* GTAW 3F-4F Toe dress
Pay Rate and Schedule:
* Position includes a wage of $21.10/hour + Shift Differential on 2nd Shift.and a comprehensive benefit program
* Openings available on 2nd shift: Monday - Friday, 3 p.m - 11 p.m. Overtime opportunities may be available on a voluntary basis based on business needs and with leader prior authorization
