Receive work assignment from Group Leader and Supervision. 2. Read and follow safety regulations and procedures and weld symbols. 3. Setup equipment by setting amperage, voltage, pressures, feeds, and speeds within limits specified and obtaining specified electrode. 4. Position and operate manual, semi-automatic and automatic welding equipment to deposit single and multiple layers and weld in all positions at joint locations specified where care must be exercised to produce quality welds with uniform penetration. Location of parts is determined by others or by fixtures. Load and clamp material in fixtures against fixed stops. 5. Operate carbon arc torch to remove weldments from floorplate or strongback and braces from weldments. 6. Operate handling equipment to lift, move and position material. 7. Sign off operations completed and obtain first piece and final inspection signoffs on operation sheets as required. 8. Maintain tools, equipment, and work area in a clean and orderly condition. 9. Make proper time charge entries and record data as required. 10. Maintain in effect certification for welding ferrous and nonferrous metals and alloys and take and acceptably pass periodic working tests. 11. Identify parts in accordance with method specified. Perform Work of equal or lower skills level as required. Basic Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
