May clean or degrease weld joint or workplace, using wire brush, portable grinder, or chemical bath. May repair broken or cracked parts and fill holes. May remove excess weld, defective weld material, slag and spatter, using carbon arc gouge, hand scrapper, grinder or power chipper. May preheat work piece, using hand torch or heating furnace. May cut metal plates or structural shapes. - Examines weld for bead size and other specifications. - Loads, transports and unloads material, tools, equipment and supplies. - May assist in lifting, positioning and securing of materials and work pieces during installation. - Performs minor maintenance or cleaning activities of tools and equipment. - Assists other mechanics as needed. - Respiratory protection is common and may be required. - Required to pass employer performance tests or standard tests to meet certification standards. We are looking for a capable Welder who will be responsible for cutting and joining metals and other materials at our facilities or construction sites, using appropriate equipment. Your job will be to provide safe foundation for strong infrastructure. You should be competent in using potentially dangerous equipment following all safety precautions, have a steady hand and great attention to detail. Knowledge of different kinds of metal and their properties is also required. We will provide PPE, FRC, tools and equipment. We will also pay and train on safety. Welder responsibilities are: Explore and follow blueprints and drawings, taking measurements to plan layout and procedures Prepare the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements Prepare components for welding according to specifications (such as powered saws to match measurements when cutting material) Use angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded Use calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces to align components Use manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions to weld components Check welded surfaces and structures for flaws by testing and inspecting them Keep your equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety Travel is required (75%+) Required Qualifications: Minimum 5 years' experience as a Welder using Flux Core (FCAW) and Stick (SMAW) Must have 2 years' experience in Tank Welding Must be able pass 2G/3G/4G Welding Test 7018/6010 Must have reliable transportation Must be willing to work overtime and weekends TWIC Card Preferred Qualifications: Solid experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures, such as Flux Core and Stick able to use the automatic welding equipment The Goat and the 3 o clock Experience with cutting torch and arc gouging Solid experience using electrical or manual tools, such as saws, squares, calipers and so on Excellent knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing, such as face-shield and gloves Good ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings Agility, professionalism, and close attention to detail Successful completion of a relevant apprenticeship program is required Professional Certification, such as AWS welding certificate, will be a bonus HMT is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer. This position is responsible for welding accurate, quality parts according to instructions and within specified time frame, using the appropriate tools and/or equipment according to safety and quality standards. Candidate should be able to perform adjustments needed to ensure factory settings and specifications by using schematics, engineering documents and precedent to weld parts and submitting welded parts to quality control or appropriate team leader. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Fabricate parts as directed by Supervisor Understand and perform weld machine setup Understand and read blueprints Perform accurate, quality fabrication in a timely manner Submit fabricated parts to Quality Control. NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Regularly clean tools, equipment, and workspace throughout the shift. Clean and detail tools, equipment, and workspace at the end of every shift. Follow instructions regarding routine maintenance and/or treatment for tools, equipment, and workspace. Complies with established procedures. Manages time and resources by using company resources in order to maximize productivity and accomplish tasks on time. Demonstrate commitment to an Injury-Free Environment by actively participating in company safety programs. Comply with all aspects of the corporate environmental, health and safety program. SKILLS: MIG welding experience is required (3 year minimum). TIG welding experience a plus. Blueprint reading.
