About the role As a Welder/Pipe Fitter at Quantum Industrial Services, you will be responsible for welding and fitting piping systems with precision and quality workmanship. This role requires at least four years of welding experience and certifications in ASME Section IX for stainless and carbon steel unless hired for a specific project. You'll work with construction documents, including plans and shop drawings, to complete installations on time and within budget. Additional responsibilities include ensuring fire safety, attending weekly safety meetings, maintaining tools and equipment, and keeping job sites organized. If necessary, crews will work beyond 3:30 if progress of project is behind or if situations arise that require additional attention. 4. Attend weekly safety meetings and work in a safe manner every day to prevent injuries or accidents. 5. Complete timecard on a daily basis with accurate job numbers, cost codes, and hours. Turn into jobsite superintendent or foreman every Monday for review. 6. Responsible for daily jobsite cleanup and keeping inventory in trailers organized. Secure tools and materials on site. Maintain and service tools and welders or report repair issues to shop. 7. Must be able to read construction documents it: plans, shop drawings, and specifications. 8. Provide adequate fire safety and wear PPE at all times. 9. Assist co-workers for on-the-job training and reach safety practices. Be a positive influence. 10. Keep welding certificate current. Previous experience with .045-1/16 wire welding process is a plus as well as experience with structural steel fabrication. This is a full-time position, must be able to work overtime as needed. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, pass a background check and have reliable transportation to get to and from work. Personal welding equipment and tools are required. Position Overview We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Welder/Fabricator to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess certifications in AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code and demonstrate proficiency in the 3G (Vertical) position. This role involves welding, cutting, and fabricating metal components while ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency in all tasks. Key Responsibilities: Perform welding and fabrication tasks using MIG welding techniques in accordance with industry standards and project specifications. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately construct and assemble components. Execute welding operations in the 3G vertical position and ensure compliance with AWS D1.1 standards. Inspect and maintain welding equipment, ensuring all tools are in safe working condition. Measure, cut, and shape metal materials using a variety of tools, such as grinders, torches, and saws. Conduct quality control checks on welds to ensure structural integrity and visual standards. Adhere to safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and following OSHA guidelines. Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and meet deadlines. Qualifications and Requirements: Valid AWS D1.1 certification and demonstrated proficiency in the 3G (Vertical) welding position. Minimum of 2 years of experience in welding and metal fabrication (preferred). Strong ability to interpret and follow blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols. Knowledge of various metals, including steel. Familiarity with cutting tools, fabrication machinery, and measuring devices. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Physical ability to lift heavy materials (up to 75 lbs), stand for extended periods, and work in varying environmental conditions. Preferred Skills: Experience with robotic welding systems.
