This company works on projects for the Aerospace, Defense, Energy and Infrastructure Industries. What is offered Multiple options for medical, dental and vision including some with HSA and FSA options, life and disability insurance, EAP, 401K PTO and 10 paid holidays Salary - Welder I: $34.13, Welder II: $30.14, Welder III: $25.56 Shift: Monday - Thursday, 10 hour shift, 1st shift. Friday - Sunday, 12 hours, first shift Career growth - Growing department. Lead positions potentially available in future for the right candidate. Primary Function: The Welder is responsible for fabrication welding requirements including manual, semi-automatic, automatic and all-position including using oxygen/acetylene gas torch for cutting or pre-heat. Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities: Utilize knowledge of weld electrodes and wire, machine settings, maintain an acceptable standard in quality and quantity, and use oxygen/acetylene gas torch for cutting or pre-heat. Read and interpret drawings, sketches and weld symbols, set up and operate semi-automatic or automatic weld equipment. Assemble and tack parts as directed by supervisor All other duties as assigned. Education and Experience: (Knowledge, skills, & abilities) Welder I: Minimum five to seven years' welding/fabrication experience or apprentice program Welder II: Minimum of two years' welding/fabrication experience or apprentice program. Welder III: Minimum of one year welding/fabrication experience or apprentice program. Capable of passing a 3G, 4G Aluminum weld test on 3/8 plate to AWS D1.2 weld standards. Able to consistently pass UT/RT/PT weld joints Compliance: Drug Screen, Background Check, must be US Citizen Physical Demands: Ability to lift, carry 60lbs., or maneuver objects, difficult objects will be lifted with the assistance of mechanical means or additional workers. Must be able to lift 4 ft., 60 lb. spool of wire and load welding machine. Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, kneel, twist, pull, push, grip, and climb. Capable of working from ladders and scaffolding. Work Environment: SHOP: Standard machine shop environment with various types of machinery. Appropriate safety garments (PPE) must be worn. Must be able to stand and work as long as 12 hours in different positions. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted. Brief Company Description AGC Heat Transfer, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Alfa Laval, AB, is the leading OEM of sanitary plate heat exchangers in North America, manufacturing plate heat exchangers specifically designed for sanitary applications. AGC offers complete heat exchangers, services as well as upgrades to plate packs, gaskets and spares that fit multiple brands. In addition, AGC offers Field Leak Testing and inspections of plate heat exchangers that meet the 3-A sanitary standard. AGC Heat Transfer consists of three manufacturing/service facilities (Bristow, VA, Fairview, OR & Pleasant Prairie, WI) with about 110 employees (70 OR / 20 VA / 20 other locations). Currently, most of the sales are in the US & Canada. AGC Heat Transfer has a strong engineering culture with a heavy emphasis on customer service and technical/consultative sales. Wage $23.00 - $25.00/hour 10% hourly shift differential upon moving to second shift schedule, training to be completed on Day Shift. Job Description As a TIG Welder I, the employee will perform a wide range of tasks. Some of the responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Position Responsibilities Fit, tack, assemble and weld stainless sheet metal on simple plate exchanger components per drawings. Sand welds per drawings. Material handling (forklift, pallet jack) Safely use small tools and equipment to complete daily tasks. Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner. Keep work areas clean. Actively participate in continuous safety and production improvement efforts. Other duties as assigned. Comfortable welding small plate heat exchanger components. High School Diploma or GED Basic addition and subtraction/Reading and writing skills. Able to read tape measure in fractions of an inch. Read and follow drawings. Ability to follow directions and focus on completing tasks. Must be willing to work on a wide range of tasks and flexible to changing priorities. Wear all appropriate PPE. Ability to follow safety rules and the 5s principles of a work environment. Ability to do repetitive work including walking and lifting for extended periods of time. Capable of lifting 50 lbs.
