Duties/Responsibilities:
Fabricate components using various pieces of equipment in order to clean, cut, bend, tack, and weld parts ranging from simple weldments to complex assemblies; select appropriate methods for such fabrication based on available resources
Meet daily production and quality demands
Work with other team members and stake holders to develop weld/fabrication support documentation and best practices
Ensure compliance with Industry Welding and Fabrication Standards
Set up and maintain work area, select and verify the materials and tooling needed for production
Comply with health, safety (including OSHA), and environmental procedures, and ensure the cleanliness of the area
Read and interpret mechanical drawings to ensure proper dimensions and specifications have been met for fabricated components
Other duties as needed to support VSC's various racing programs
Required Skills/Abilities:
Strong mechanical aptitude
Current welding certification (or the ability to achieve it within 3 months)
Ability to operate various types of welding and fabrication equipment and tools
Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings. Knowledge of GD&T is a plus.
Strong familiarity with the use of precision measurement equipment used in production
Excellent time management skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED is required
Minimum of three (3) years' relevant welding and fabrication experience
Proven ability to multi-task and work comfortably in a fast-paced, often-changing environment including excellent organizational skills with a high degree of initiative and flexibility
Proven ability to be a team player with high integrity is a must
Physical Requirements:

SUMMARY
Lay out, fit, assemble and weld forged components using Tig welding standard methods.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Selects equipment and plans layout, assembly, and welding.
Lay out, position, align, and fit components together.
Responsible for quality including first piece and in-process inspections.
Sets up equipment and welds parts, using arc, gas-shield arc, or gas welding equipment.
Assemble parts by fitting and clamping in weld fixture to secure for welding.
Repairs products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
Must be familiar with the physical characteristics of various metals such as stainless steel, brass, aluminum, iron, etc.
Reads blueprint or job order to determine dimensions and specifications.
Selects correct welding rod, tips, wire or filler and amperage settings to produce desired results.
Verifies conformance to specifications.
Produces high quality products by following written and oral instructions.
Uses and understands functional fixtures and gages to insure quality products.
Must be able to meet production efficiency rates.

OTHER NECESSARY FUNCTIONS
Knowledge of basic inspection equipment such as: Vanier Calipers, Micrometers, Test indicators, etc.
Provide feedback to refine and improve processes on an ongoing basis.
