**Responsibilities:**
+ Perform multi-pass, all-position fillet and butt welds using GMAW, FCAW, and GMAW-P processes.
+ Utilize Air Carbon Arc Gouging effectively.
+ Work in various environments including shipboard and sub-assemblies, adhering to OSHA regulations.
+ Use fillet and butt weld gauges accurately.
+ Successfully pass all position, multi-pass butt weld qualification tests as per MIL-STD-248D standards.
**Essential Skills:**
+ Four years of welding experience.

Welder and Fabricator II position is responsible for assembling metal structures through the use of cutting, joining, fabricating, and shaping metal and other materials using high heat and a range of tools. Welder II will use MIG, Flux Core, and TIG welding to produce and manufacture parts and fixtures. The Welder II will report to a Welder and Fabricator III.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures
Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements)
Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces

Reports any discrepancies and safety related issues to the shop foreman.
Performs any task, assignment, or project assigned by shop foreman with expeditiousness and accuracy to accommodate production flow.
Must inspect and repair all defects and discontinuities before a Quality Control Inspector is called.
Make repairs
Operates forklift, man lift, and scissor lift.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), welding helmets, gloves, and safety gear.
Assists in training new welders and provides guidance on welding procedures and techniques as needed.

The Job
You'll travel across the U.S. to power plant sites, welding stainless steel structural components using the Flux-Core process (309 wire on ½" carbon plate). You'll read and work from detailed blueprints, and perform 2G, 3G, and 4G welds in all positions including overhead and vertical, in high-pressure, physically demanding environments like boilers and scaffolding systems.
What We're Looking For
3+ years of industrial welding experience
Ability to pass bend-tested welds: 2G, 3G, and 4G (Flux-Core, 309 wire)
Comfortable working at heights and in tight, hot spaces
Willing to travel continuously nationwide
Strong work ethic, blueprint reading skills, and commitment to safety
Pay & Benefits
$25/hour base pay + $15/hour travel pay + $30/day per diem
