About the Role:
As a Welder at our manufacturing facility in Louisiana, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of our products. You will be responsible for welding and fabricating metal components, interpreting blueprints and schematics, and performing quality control checks. Your work will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of our production processes, and ultimately contribute to the success of our company. We have openings on our first and second shifts.

Hitachi Energy is seeking Welder for its Crystal Springs, Mississippi location. This role is responsible for for assembly pieces of a transformer utilizing the Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW) process. Employees have job duties that also include; reading blueprints, cutting metal, measuring and cutting materials and checking tolerances on finished work.
Available shifts:
First Shift: 7:00am - 2:30 pm
Second Shift: 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm
Responsibilities:
* Handle transformers, welded assemblies, and miscellaneous parts with an overhead crane, jib hoist, and/or fork truck.
* Identify parts and assemble transformers or assemblies from assembly prints.
* Set up and connect welding machine, wire feeders, welding guns, and shielding gas regulators for Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW) process.
* Perform welding work as directed by Welding Supervisor.
* Remove welds on transformers or other parts using the Air Carbon Arc Gouging process (electric arc and compressed air) or another method.
* Perform air tests on certain portions of the transformer as required.
* Perform grinding on transformers or welded assemblies as required.
* Knowledge and ability to perform Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW) on stainless steel and carbon steel.
* Observe and follow all Hitachi Energy Safety protocols.
* Attend Safety meetings and morning Start-up meetings as required.
* Complete the required transformer checklists and documents.
* Must successfully pass Hitachi Energy Welder Qualification tests.
Your background:
* Diploma of vocational (welding) studies preferred.
* Knowledge and skills acquired through previous experience.
* 1-year previous FCAW welding experience.
* Knowledge in material handling and operation of hand power tools.
* Knowledge of properly reading and understanding assembly/fabrication prints.
* Attention to detail and self-motivated. Work with minimal supervision.
* Ability to work any shift, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
A minimum of one-year experience in teaching or related field required. Certified, licensed, or
accredited in the state in which the center is located, or is accredited by a professional trade
organization. For NTC, instructor must be certified by union or trade organization, or by a national
trade certifying organization. Previous Job Corps experience preferred. Must possess a valid
Drivers License and meet company insurability requirements.
Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing,
carrying, reaching, stooping and crouching. Demonstrates the ability to lift 40 pounds and/or the
ability to assess the lift load in order to ask for necessary assistance. (Depending upon trade)
