Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
* Assists program supervisor with curriculum development, course scheduling and Program Advisory Committee meetings.
* Plan, prepare, and execute training strategies by facilitating classes and providing technical assistance, and/or individual coaching.
* Work collaboratively with employers to ensure the curriculum and learning outcomes prepare employees/students for success at work.
* Determine the appropriate tools, techniques, methodologies, and timing of improvement activities to meet business objectives.
* Develop customized participant training materials, active learning activities, and events.
* Deliver customized Welding courses to include Mig, Tig, and Stick welding.
* Manage classroom and shop/lab to ensure a productive and safe learning environment.
* Work closely with business leadership to develop key performance measurements.
* Strong organizational skills, interpersonal skills, teamwork, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks while remaining customer-focused.

Qualifications:
* At least five years of direct occupational experience.
* At a minimum, occupational experience has to have occurred at least three years within the last five years.

* Ability to work independently, remain flexible in a fast-paced environment, and handle customer issues in a timely manner.
* Must hold a valid driver's license and be insurable under the District's standard insurance policy terms.

* Holds or is able to obtain a valid Ohio State Board of Education Adult Education Permit.

Salary:
Appropriate placement on the Adult Education Intermittent/Hourly Salary Schedule to be determined by education and experience. Compensation is $25.00 per hour for In-House Training and $30.00 per hour for Off-Site Training, on an as-needed basis. Maximum 839 working hours in an academic year. One-year contract with opportunity for renewal.
Other Benefits:
State Teachers Retirement System and Worker's Compensation offered. Upon hire, additional benefits may be offered depending upon hours worked, job classification, and placement on the Upper Valley Career Center Salary Schedule. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK EXPERIENCE
* A Technical Diploma OR State of Wisconsin Journey-worker's certificate, plus five years direct occupational experience.
* At a minimum, occupational experience has to have occurred at least 1 year within the last 5 years.
* Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) preferred.
* Employment is conditional on the completion of a background check and drug test with acceptable results.
Additional requirements upon hire:

Part-time Faculty: Welding Instructor

Founded in 1967, Lakeland Community College now serves more than 5,000 students annually and provides a continuum of education, from offering college credit courses for high school students to preparing students for the workforce upon completion of certificates, associate degrees or transfer to a four-year institution. We are seeking an instructor who will be responsible for the classroom instruction, maintaining course records, grading, program curriculum and course curriculum. This will include working with other full-time and part-time faculty at the college to make modifications and changes to best prepare our graduates for either further study or to enter the workforce.
FACULTY RESPONSIBILITIES (representative)
INSTRUCTION
Teach courses in areas of competency in a manner consistent with institutional and course goals and objectives
Select texts, supplemental documents and other learning resources
Set attainable instructional goals and objectives compatible with approved rationale for courses
Evaluate students to determine progress toward course goals and objectives, assign final grades
Maintain a minimum of ten (10) posted office hours per week. Eight (8) on campus over two days and two (2) may be done remotely on another day.
COURSE AND CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT
Recommend to the division dean the revision, deletion or addition of courses or curricula
Evaluate and recommend revisions to the college catalog and support materials
Maintain updated course outlines according to prescribed college procedures; develop course syllabi
SERVICE TO THE COLLEGE, PROFESSION AND COMMUNITY
Remain current with the field(s) of assigned instruction and related occupational areas
Acquire, maintain and apply knowledge of current instructional methodologies and materials
Participate in accreditation processes and college, division and department committees and meetings
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
5+ years of industry experience as a welder or welding trainer
AWS Certification or Credential
Experience teaching or leading relevant training in industry

FUNCTION

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Communicates with supervisor to receive instructions.
Work from blueprints, work orders, layouts, or verbal instructions.
Qualified to set-up and operate shear to produce properly sized material.
Qualified to set-up and operate ironworker to produce properly sized material.
Qualified to set-up and operate cut-off saws according to material type, thickness, or shape.
Removes burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from work pieces, using file, hand grinder, or wire brush.
DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE / EDUCATION
High school diploma or GED required.
Must be a US citizen.
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE / SKILL
One to three years of related weld experience and/or training in MIG or TIG welding.
Ability to produce sound welds using GTAW, GMAW, or FCAW processes.
Ability to read blueprints.
RELATIONSHIPS

JOB ENVIRONMENT:
Works in a fabrication shop or manufacturing facility with welding stations, cutting equipment, and heavy machinery.

Environment involves high noise levels from cutting, grinding, and hammering operations. Temperature variations are common due to welding heat and facility ventilation.
Work area includes overhead cranes, material handling equipment, and large fabrication tables. Position requires strict adherence to defense industry quality standards and may involve handling materials for classified defense projects.
Work performed under aerospace and defense specifications such as AWS welding standards and military specifications.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to stand, walk, and work on feet for entire shift duration of 10-12 hours.
Requires ability to lift, carry, and position materials weighing up to 75 pounds, with team lifting for heavier assemblies.
Extensive bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching while working on large fabrications or accessing tight spaces.
Ability to work at various heights including ladders, scaffolding, and elevated platforms. Strong hand and arm strength needed for operating grinders, torches, and heavy hand tools.
Fine motor control essential for precise welding and fitting operations.
Good balance and coordination required when working on uneven surfaces or elevated positions.
Must be able to work in confined spaces when necessary for internal fabrication work.
