Job Description We're looking for highly skilled, precision-oriented welders to join a specialized contract team working on complex fabrication projects in a clean, high-spec manufacturing environment. This is a 12-week contract role (W2) with strong potential for full-time hire based on performance, reliability, and craftsmanship. You'll be part of a tight-knit, quality-driven production team supporting a range of high-purity process systems, pressure vessels, and stainless piping assemblies. From TIG welding on sanitary-grade stainless to heavy MIG fabrication and orbital welds on pipe spools, your work will directly contribute to systems used in critical industrial, medical, and commercial applications around the world. Job Description/Tasks/Responsibilities * Uses hand-welding or flame-cutting to weld metal components or to fill holes, indentations, or seams. Performs duties with a high regard for safety and accuracy. * Operate safety equipment and use safe and efficient work habits. * Operates manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments, using processes such as gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, plasma arc, shielded metal arc, resistance welding, and cutting torch. * Monitors the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of material to ensure conformance with specifications. * Positions, aligns, and secures parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using straight edges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers. * Analyzes shop drawings, blueprints, specifications, sketches, work orders, and material safety data sheets to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations. * Clamps, holds, tack-welds, grinds or bolts component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding. * Grinds off excess weld, slag, or spatter, using hand scrapers or power chippers, portable grinders, or arc-cutting equipment to smooth out rough edges and maintain safety. * Marks or tags material with proper job number, piece marks, and other identifying marks as required ensuring proper shipment to customers. * Dismantles metal assemblies or cuts scrap metal using thermal-cutting equipment such as flame-cutting torches or plasma-arc equipment. * Performs daily activities and prioritizes tasks based on written and oral directions from Weld Lead and Manager. * Must complete process/facility training as assigned. * There is no supervision of other workers at this level. * Responsible for the quality of his/her own work and satisfying customer (internal and external) specifications * Must complete process/facility training as assigned * Performs other duties as assigned.
