The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled welder/ fabricator with strong mechanical ability. A professional and well-versed problem solver who is a critical thinker and loves working with trucks and equipment daily. The candidate must be team-oriented and able to thrive in a fast-paced and continuously evolving shop environment. A positive attitude and open-mindedness are required.
Welders start between $26-32/hr. based on experience and currently working 50-60 hours a week. Overtime required! Currently looking to add welders to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift.
Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities
• Build and maintain a large fleet of state-of-the-art trucks and equipment
• Fabricate bumpers, chain boxes, storage racks, winch mounts and more
• Weld, straighten, brace or replace broken components on trucks and heavy equipment
• Repair damaged tanks, dumpsters, dump beds, axles and more.
• Repair brakes, drivelines, hydraulic, and electrical systems on heavy trucks
• Perform oil changes and complete preventative maintenance services
• Diagnose engine, transmission, and emission system issues
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace
• Operate forklifts and other equipment as needed in support of repair work
• Complete detailed work orders for all projects and repairs
• Work with a team of mechanics to complete larger builds and projects
• Adhere to and enforce all safety standards
• Participate in and promote the safety culture
• Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• Proficient in all welding processes including MIG, TIG, and stick welding
• Work with various metals including steel, stainless steel and aluminum
• Precise Oxy-Acetylene torching and plasma cutting ability
• Use a variety of tools to disassemble and reassemble trucks and equipment to execute welding repairs. Must possess own set of tools and toolbox.
• Perform electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical diagnostics and repair
• Willing and able to execute mechanical repairs on semi-trucks and heavy equipment
• Use tape measures, calipers, and micrometers to measure precisely to assist with duplication and repair of components
• Use squares, plumbs, levels, compasses and other specialty tools to assist with fabrication layout and design.
• Use a variety of shop tools including presses, band saws, shears, grinders and brakes
• Innovative fabricator able to design and build various components and parts
• Knowledge of proper sandblasting and painting techniques is a plus though not mandatory
• Must have at least a chauffeurs license and current DOT medical card. CDL is not required but is appreciated.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment under pressure/deadlines

· Operate robotic weld cells, gauges, leak testers
· May manually assembles and welds complete exhaust systems that have not already been welded from start to end using components parts supplied.
The position incumbent ensures, that
· Conduct all business related activities for, and on the behalf of, Eberspaecher within the limits of applicable local, state, and federal legal requirements.
· Provide support to, and compliance with, all local and corporate Eberspaecher Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies, procedures and other HSE related requirements.
· Quality - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and follows all EETAM polices related to TS16949 and ISO 14001; looks for way to improve and promote quality.
· Remove & replace individual component parts, occasionally performing welds that are 100% of the length of the seam.
· Other duties as assigned.
Requirement Profile:
Professional Background / Basic Qualification / Work Experience:
· High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
· Minimum six (6) months' related experience in manufacturing setting.
· Must pass each standard global re-certification test as required.
· Required to take qualification tests using the GMAW (MIG/MAG) and GTAW (TIG) processes.
