** Participate in and support lean manufacturing programs and principles with a focus to reduce costs with quality product such as Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Suggestion System, etc. Actively participate in Continuous Improvement to continually strive to improve our processes and procedures. Salary info:

$17 - $21.75 / hr

Who we are looking for:

Atkore, a recipient of a Great Place to Work© certification and a Top Workplaces USA award, is searching for a Machine Operator to be based out of our Phoenix, AZ facility. Reporting to the shift supervisor, this person will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining all chemical application coating equipment for our production operation. This person will need to work with the production team to communicate issues and ensure quality production.

What you'll do:

The Machine Operator will be responsible for performing various tasks to set up, operate, monitor, and troubleshoot on assigned machines. The Machine Operator will also be responsible for inspecting parts to specifications and making adjustments, or tool changes as necessary to maintain quality specifications.

* Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment
* Sets up and operates a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
* Reads and interprets blueprints and diagrams to select, position and secure machinery.
* Adjusts machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications and in a timely fashion.
* Performs necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation on multiple pieces of equipment
* Operates/monitors multiple pieces of equipment during operation to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stops
* Communicates with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials
* Completes documentation including daily production reports, regular quality inspections, and safety inspections of equipment

The Welder is responsible for laying out, aligning and welding mainly vinyl and aluminum frames by using welding equipment or hand tools. This role is in charge of laying out frames as well as assemble according to the requirements of the assignment. The Welder applies appropriate welding processes to join, surface, and fabricate frame parts of metal or vinyl according to layouts and work orders.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

* Maintain welding equipment through regular welding equipment maintenance.

* Perform other duties and responsibilities requested by the supervisor.

* Use of hand and power tools.

* Fit and align fabricated frames to be welded or assembled.

* Align parts or workpieces to ensure proper assembly.

* Moves parts and heavy frames on and off machinery.

* Lays out, positions, aligns and fits frames or parts together in various body positions.

* Prepare and execute order fulfillment.

* Fit and weld complex assemblies.

* May inspect completed work for conformance to specifications.

* Set up work as required for welding.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

* Ability to follow all safety and environmental protection rules.

* Basic knowledge on how to read a tape measure.

* Team player and goal oriented.

* Excellent detailing skills.

* General knowledge of how tools operate.

* Ability to work without supervision.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

* Welding experience preferred (Preferred)

* 1 year of manufacturing (Required)

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
