We are currently hiring skilled pipe welders experienced in multiple sites in the US. Assist with joint fit up and final weld joint alignment to include some rigging and lifting if necessary. Ideal candidates will be proficient with SMAW/STICK, GTAW/TIG ? 6G position Performs welding processes on pipe; manual; standard bevel Plan, lay‐out, weld, install, and repair all types of pipe and similar tubular products in accordance with applicable plans, specifications, welding codes and industry standards utilizing a variety of hand‐welding or flame‐cutting equipment. Use appropriate hand (i.e. wrap around, files) and power tools (i.e. cutting torch) to properly measure, cut, assemble, weld and install all types of structural steel components; install supports, valves and other control equipment; test installed systems and install all other related items in accordance with the applicable plans and specifications; must be familiar with properties of metal machining, weld shrinkage and welding techniques; bolts, clamps or other welding related equipment; weld components according to specific process and code; and install all other items in accordance with the applicable plans and specifications. Weld components in flat, vertical, horizontal, or overhead positions. Clamp hold, tack‐weld, heat‐bend, grind, or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding. Must be able to set up machine including safely running lines and be able to adjust gas flow and pressure so that desired flames are obtained. Knowledge of operation of welding equipment electrodes, fluxes and shielded gases and welding processes. Must have the ability to weld with a mirror. Requires occasional working in confined space work environment with the potential of extreme temperature exposure, chemical exposure, and radiation exposure during an 8-to-12-hour shift. Welds on site must pass quality audits on a continuous basis. Knowledge of carbon steel, stainless steel, copper nickel, nickel copper, Inconel and other alloy metals. Understand, support, and follow lockout tag out procedures. Attend site specific training and assure you follow all procedures as out lined in training. Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean work environment. Use effective verbal and written communication skills. Add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers and fractions rapidly and accurately. Produce quality work, meeting requirements of plans, specifications, and industry standards. Read and understand plans and specifications, including diagrams, prints, orthographic and isometric drawings and visualize two dimensional drawings in three dimensions. Comply with Company Code of Conduct and jobsite policies. Perform all other job-related duties as requested by supervisor. Experience in submarine piping is a plus. Ability to understand and follow directions. Weld Test Requirements: GTAW welding of 1' Inconel butt weld with MIL-82H consumable insert ring and MIL-RN82H filler wire. GTAW welding of 1' carbon steel butt weld with MIL-MS-2 consumable insert ring and ER70S-3 filler wire. GTAW welding of 2 - ?' CRES socket welds (4F/5F positions) with MIL-RN82H Inconel filler wire. GTAW welding of 2 - ?' carbon steel socket welds (4F/5F positions) with ER70S-3 filler wire. All tests are restricted in accordance with NAVSEA Technical Publication S9074-AQ-GIB-010/248 Figure 21. Job Description Phillips Tank & Structure (PTS) is no ordinary tank construction company. We specialize in the complex and fast-paced environment of tank repair on a nationwide scale. No two tanks are alike, so when they need repair, they often pose unique or complicated technical issues. Our experienced engineering staff are well-versed in API 650, API 653, AWWA D100, AWWA D103, API 12D, and other tank specifications. We build and repair welded above-ground storage tanks (ASTs), bolted tanks, and related structures. We also inspect, install, and repair tank systems such as aluminum geodesic dome covers, aluminum internal floating roofs (IFRs), IFR mechanical shoe seals, liquid level gauges, fire protection systems, silo support structures, industrial storage tanks, and heating and insulation systems. Day to Day Duties: Performing arc and torch cutting and gouging. Using generators, compressors, tuggers, blowers, grinders, and other power and air tools. Welding plate with 7018, 7024 and 6010 stick (SMAW), flux core (FCAW), and submerged arc automatic machines (3 o'clock and “goat”/tractor). Using come-alongs, hydraulic jacks, hoists, air bags, winches, and other lifting equipment. Using tank shell buggies, tank scaffolding, tank ladders, and other specialty equipment. Performing vacuum box tests, oil tests, dye penetrant tests, and other non-destructive quality examinations. Using gas monitors, fresh air kits, respirators, emergency rescue kits, and other safety equipment. Operating forklifts, man lifts, boom lifts, and other large lifting equipment. Knowledge of crane operations (including rigging and signaling) Reading detailed erection and fabrication drawings. Planning the sequence and methods of fitting up, welding, repairing, and constructing tanks. Completing job safety analysis, safety audits, site-specific training, and other safety training. Follow directions and work professionally with other crew members. \ Other duties as assigned. Requirements Have great communication and organization skills.
