A Brief Summary
This individual contributor position operates welding equipment to build and weld poles using GMAW (MIG), Flux Core (FCAW) welding. Use blueprints to determine which weld procedure to use in order to assure weld soundness and integrity

Tommy Gate's Production Department seeks proficient and motivated welders with a keen eye for quality. As a welder, you will play a pivotal role in building our product across multiple liftgate lines.

First Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM - Starting hourly rate of $21+/hr (Higher pay for experienced candidates.)
Second Shift: 4:00 PM - 2:30 AM, - Starting hourly rate of $23+ (Higher pay for experienced candidates.)

What you'll be doing
Set up welding machines in accordance with operation process sheet instructions, and prepare and evaluate proper tests to meet schedule requirements.
Position and clamp together components of fabricated metal products preparatory to welding.
Set up welding equipment and fixtures to perform welding operations in accordance with operation instructions and dimensional requirements.
Develop and prepare a schedule for welding the daily requirement for liftgates or parts.
Perform production welding for multiple liftgate lines, as required.
Performs related tasks such as thermal cutting and grinding.
Repair broken or cracked parts, fill holes, and increase the size of metal parts.
Follow company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with internal and external requirements.
Maintain work area for cleanliness and organization.
Perform other duties as required.
Required Skills:
Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to frequently bend, reach, or twist.
Ability to stand and/or walk for extended durations of time.
The ability to identify and troubleshoot issues that may arise during the welding process, such as material inconsistencies, joint misalignments, or equipment malfunctions.
Attention to detail, adaptability, and strong communication skills
Effective time management skills to meet project deadlines and production schedules efficiently
Strong commitment to adhering to safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring personal safety as well as the safety of others in the workspace
