Job Description We are looking for an Industrial Pipe Fitter / Welder that will assemble, layout, install and maintain pipe systems. Please note this is a full time position with full benefits and not a contract or short-term assignment. Typical Duties: Read blueprints and specification to determine the scope of work: locations, quantities, and material specs. Selects type and size of pipe, and related materials and equipment according to specifications Cuts, threads, bends and assembles the pipes. Prepare, cut, fabricate, layout, fit, position, and assemble piping components together in various positions. Bolt, clamp, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding. Install hangers, supports, valves and components according to piping system plans and specifications. Perform leak tests to ensure the quality of the pipe and the piping systems. Proper identification and use of tools required for tasks. (grinders, drills, beveling machine, etc.) Operate forklifts & overhead cranes. Hoist loads using slings, chains, shackles, hooks, cables, and other rigging equipment. Maintain safe and clean work environment. Qualifications: Demonstrated industrial construction/maintenance experience. Must be proficient installing copper. Ability to read prints and construction drawings. Must understand how to read and interpret ISO's, blueprints, technical manuals and instructions to determine work procedures Must have 4+ years' experience with pipe fitting processes. Ability to take detailed instruction. Positive “can do” attitude, strong work ethic and a team player. Good problem-solving abilities, communication skills, aptitude and manual dexterity. Ability to work with minimum supervision. Must be able to read & understand weld symbols, weld procedures, mechanical and structural drawings. Ability to use Oxy/fuel & Plasma hand cutting torch. Daily housekeeping of shop and/or work area. Flexible working schedule to support project needs. Knowledge of OSHA guidelines and safe work practices. Considered a Plus: Pipe fitting experience with ASME B31.3, B31.4 and API 1104 codes. Welding and/or tacking experience using GTAW process. Fit-up & layout experience on structural/misc. steel. Familiarity with weld inspections, inspection documentation. NCCER Certification as an Industrial Pipe Fitter. Formal/technical education. About the Position: We are seeking a Welder whose job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following for water purification and treatment systems and equipment: Job Responsibilities: Join, fabricate, and repair metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques Interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams, or schematics to determine appropriate welding process May position pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, or guides using measuring instruments and hand tools Operate welding equipment, regulates current and voltage or gas and wire flow rates for proper penetration and fusion of materials Obtain maximum weld strength, avoiding distortion and excessive weld at joints Inspect completed welds to determine structural soundness May assist Installation Department staff in installing new, central water systems at customer sites Maintain extraordinarily neat work areas, including shop, work sites, and vehicles, as applicable Qualifications: 2 or more years welding experience (steel fabrication & pipe welding) Familiar with commonly-used welding concepts, practices, and procedures High school diploma or GED Welding Certification preferred Strong mechanical aptitude Self-motivated, results-oriented, organized, energetic, and capable of staying cool under pressure from multiple ongoing projects Working Conditions: Majority of work performed in industrial shop setting Occasional work performed in industrial customer facilities Travel possible, with 3 overnight stays per month on average Ability to lift up to 100 lbs. Job Description Pipe Welder - Pre-Fab Shop Location: North Carolina | Pay: $32-$34/hr | Full-Time Join InServ, a leading industrial contractor serving life sciences, advanced manufacturing, and food & beverage sectors. We're hiring experienced Pipe Welders to join our pre-fabrication shop team. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Lay out, fit and weld fabricated, cast and forged pipe components to assemble structural forms (machinery frames, tanks, pressure vessels, piping headers, furnace shells, building and bridge parts according to blueprints and welding/metallurgy knowledge. Select equipment and plan layout, assembly, and welding, using knowledge of geometry, metal properties, weld shrinkage and welding techniques Position, align and fit components together; secure parts with bolts, clamps and tack welds. Thread pipe of all sizes Set up equipment and weld parts using SMAW, GMAW, and TIG welding processes Assemble parts by bolting and riveting as needed Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts using cutting torch, straightening press, and hand tools Maintain certification in in SMAW, GMAW, and TIG welding processes Tool and Equipment: Must possess the minimum tools required for Welders under InServ Policy Proficient in using: Power drills, grinders, and saws Pipe threading equipment of all types and sizes Electric, propane, and diesel-powered welding machines Plasma cutting machines Hand tools for lifting, positioning, and aligning (dollies, skates, chain falls, come-alongs, etc.) Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years of field experience working as a pipe welder on commercial/industrial projects.
