Our Company is currently looking for a Fire Sprinkler Welder and Fabricator. As a Welder and Fabricator, you will be handling, measuring, laying out, and cutting various sizes of Sprinkler Pipe. You also will be responsible for welding several different types of pipe fittings to pipe and testing to ensure welds meet specifications. Job Requirements: 18 years of age or older. Must provide proof of U.S. Citizenship, or must be legally allowed to work in the United States. High School diploma or GED. Previous welding experience is preferred, but will to train the right candidate. Ability to understand blueprints, shop cut sheets, and weld symbols. Experience with manual and power tools. Strong attention to detail. Ability to perform duties safely and effectively. Essential Job Functions: Select and set up appropriate welding equipment and welding method based on project requirements. Read cut sheets to determine what length of pipe is needed, the location, and the orientation of outlets. Operate angle grinder to prepare metal for welding. Follow customer specifications and engineering drawings, gather required materials, lay-out, assemble and weld base or enclosure. Set up equipment and weld parts together using MIG, gas welding and any combination of arc welding processes. Install specialized parts and components on enclosures, which may include insulation, Z-bar, doors, hinges, brackets using cutting, welding and grinding tools. Install specialized parts and components on bases, which may include structural steel, flat and formed sheet metal / plate, lift and lugs. Examine weld for appropriate size, quality and precision. Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping and rewelding as needed. Operate crane or other lifting equipment to move and position base or other enclosure components to complete work on all areas of the enclosure. Work with engineering staff to clarify information and obtain design changes as needed. May repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping and reassembling as needed. May operate a forklift to move materials and supplies. Follow all established quality guidelines. Maintain a clean and orderly work area. Follow established safety guidelines. Perform additional duties as requested. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Performs welding on a variety of metal components, primarily galvanneal and mid steel. Interprets blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions to weld parts using a tape measure and layout techniques, or fixtures. Conducts pre-weld and post-weld inspections to ensure adherence to specifications and quality standards. Grinds, cleans, and finishes welds as required to meet cosmetic and structural requirements. Maintains a clean and safe work environment by following company safety policies and OSHA guidelines. Collaborate with co-workers, supervisors and other related departments to resolve issues and improve processes. Qualifications: Technical certification or welding school preferred. 1-3 years of welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment. Proficient in MIG welding. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and tape measure accurately. Understanding of welding symbols and tolerances.
