Exposure to varying indoor and outdoor conditions, loud noise, dust, toxic chemicals and materials, varying fumes or odors; slippery or uneven walking surfaces; and work in ditches/excavations

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
4 years experience is required
Welders certification may be required depending of job specifications
Knowledge of welding, structural brake forming and other fabrication processes along with automated welding techniques
Ability to communicate clearly with other employees
All employees must provide and maintain the required tool inventory for this position
Good organizational and time-management skills
Ability to complete daily tasks with limited supervision and minimal errors requiring re-work
Ability and willingness to work overtime and non-standard schedule: nights, weekends and holidays as/if required
A current valid driver's license is required

Job Purpose Watson Metal Masters is currently looking for a Craftsman Grinder/Welder/Fabricator to join our growing team! We are passionate about working closely with our customers and engineering the most creative solutions to meet their Stainless-Steel Tank needs.
Our Grinder/Welder/Fabricator plays an important role on the Watson Production team. The ideal candidate will have skills in TIG weld, Pulsed MIG, polish, fabricate, assemble and the ability to inspect stainless steel products to meet customer requirements and expectations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Minimally invasive grinding (scratches, pits)
Blend in repair effectively on parent polished material
Grind external or internal cylindrical tapered surfaces
Remove metal by the application of abrasives which are bonded to form a rotating wheel
Rough and finish flat, cylindrical, and conical surfaces
Determine grinding speeds, feed rates, holding fixtures, and grinding wheels to be used
Lift or hoist workpieces
Superior quality Pulsed Mig and Tig welds
Have the knowledge and skillset to build a tank from start to finish
Build tanks and components with little to no supervision
Work as a self-starter
Dissect a blueprint and determine if something is incorrect
Demonstrate advanced troubleshooting skillset
Buff and grind welds proficiently in accordance with the blueprints
Determine what shielding gasses are needed in different welding applications
Determine what type of filler rod/wire is needed in different welding applications
Actively share knowledge to enhance others' skills and foster continuous growth
Demonstrate versatility by being adaptable and ready to contribute wherever needed within the shop
Be a reliable professional who consistently delivers accurate results within established timelines
Properly use weld gauges
Accurately fill out tank traveler documentation
Properly fill out weld log and heat code documentation
Operate hand tools in a safe manner
Operate overhead cranes in a safe manner
Work in confined spaces
Understand and follow all safety procedures
Wear all PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
May perform other duties as assigned to help the rest of the Watson team
Qualifications
Education
High school diploma preferred but not required.
Valid certification in welding from an accredited institution is preferred.
Specialized Knowledge and Experience
At least 5+ years' experience fabricating and welding with the ability to weld with pulsed MIG, and GTAW stainless steel.
Experience in ASME shop a plus.
Must have the ability to polish and finish stainless steel.
Ability to maintain equipment, including changing out wheels.
Ability to inspect grinding wheel for cracks, or ware.
Use proper wheel guards on all grinding machines.
Ability to fabricate
We need someone who wants to do more than simply be a "welder", who works well in team environments.
Sound operation abilities with overhead cranes, forklifts, and all hand tools.
Must be detail-oriented, with the ability to successfully follow through on assignments.
